D&D 5E (2014) The Fifth City - Episode 1: The Gathering

Korgon adds in "I would bet that the Brown would be the best place to pick up rumors and such, but it may be a little.....overwhelming for some of you. But tonight is about relaxing and getting to know each other a bit. There is a great tavern over in the Green district, the Green Hippogriff. I think it will be a good spot."

"The Green Hippogriff sounds fabulous to me. Let's go out and have fun!" It's obvious that Amisi is just itching to get out.

"I thank you for this fine meal, good Marcus," says Rhal, standing and dabbing his lips with a napkin. "May we seek out what information we can gather... and assassins be damned." This last part he says like a toast and spills the contents of his wine glass into his gaping jaws, never seeming to swallow.

Marcus smiles and says,"thank you, but the staff is responsible for these meals." If any of the staff are in view, he indicates them.

Amisi swings over to the Mage and slips her arm through his. "Oh Marcus, always so humble. Sometimes it's okay to just say thank you and smile," she grins at him. "Now, are you going to take the opportunity to change before we head out tonight?" She pauses, just a fraction of a second, looking him over. "You might not want to go out in your uniform. I am definitely taking the opportunity to wear a new dress! And with that I shall return promptly!" She gives them all a dazzling smile then runs upstairs to her room.

Markus just rolls his eyes at her.

Markus looks at his uniform, not sure what was wrong with going out in it. After Amisi had left he still pondered and then it struck him. The normals might get freaked at the sight of a member of the Mage Corp amongst them. They may get full of fear from superstitions born of their petty ignorance. With that thought, he turns to his room and changes into nice, but not too formal wear. he returns and looks to every one.

"I am ready." He is dressed in a black leather set of clothing. it is stitched in black thread. It is devoid of mage corp insignia, but is is still black, jsut like the corp uniform . . but made of leather instead of the cotton cloth of the normal uniform. his head i is adorned of a black felt fez with red trim.

Amisi comes sweeping down the stairs in what is most likely an extremely inappropriate for where they are headed pale yellow gown. She still has her black gloves on, of course. But her hair and makeup are touched up and a big smile is her best accessory. "Oh, let's get going now, I can't wait to get the the Hippogriff."

The odd little group makes it to the Green Hippogriff a little after the dinner hour, when those still in attendance at the tavern are mainly concerned with drinking and watching the live entertainment. Tonight's entertainer is a tiefling dancer named Adira, one of the most popular dancers in the district and a favorite of the Tiefling Ambassador, Londo Mollari. Ambassador Mollari is, in fact, in attendance this evening, in the front row.

Felix also recognizes another member of the audience, N'Grath, a gnoll who is well known among the city guard as a primary point of contact for fences and smugglers. N'Grath has his hands in nearly every illicit deal in the city but always manages to keep his hands just clean enough to avoid arrest.

The Green Hippogriff serves a variety of ales, meades, and beers, as well as a house blend of halfling sweet brandy, a specialty of the halfling proprietor who has gained some local fame.

OOC: Feel free to improvise incidental NPC interactions. Anyone wanting to talk to N'Grath, Ambassador Mollari, or Adira will need to wait for me, however. I will try to check in during the week to make sure you aren't waiting too long.

Markus lets someone else choose where to sit, but he will try and place himself with the gnoll fence in sight. filthy criminal element.

Felix catches Markus' eye and nods in the direction of the Gnoll, but just grins when he sees that Markus is already giving him a look of distaste. "Guess they don't mind taking money that is hot or bloody here eh?" He comments softly to Markus. He moves past the Gnoll bumping his chair 'accidentally' in passing hard enough it can't be missed and finds a large centrally located table close to the Gnoll but out of earshot. Knowing Markus has an eye for N'Grath, Felix opts for a seat further around the table so he can watch Ambassador Mollari and maybe the dancer's not inconsiderable charms.
