The First (IC) (d20/3.x D&D)

Angrboda will hunt and forage for supplies for the expedition members while traveling the new day. This slows the group down but she is able to provide food and water for the entire group plus some extra. 1d20+8=26 This should provide enough for eight total so the group will eat well when they stop to camp.

the morning of the next day Forge wakes with a forlorn look. He sighs as he accepts the berries and nuts Angrboda found as the grouped marched.

"Thank you." he says in a downcast manner. Something on his mind is troubling the young man.

"Wha..? Oh It's just we will be heading back soon and didn't find what we were looking for, I guess we could try again later but I so wanted to go back and work on... something... anything really." Forge says mournfully between bites.

Kaznak thanks Angrboda and then listens to Forge. He chuckles at the downcast human. "Don't worry about it. Like ya said, we can try again another time. 'Sides, we weren't exactly expecting to run into a pack of wolves. With another group, we'll be ready for them and a little more on guard. And the next group could go in just a day or two, if they all feel rested up enough. But I suppose we should start back to camp right after breakfast..."

Kaznak also performs his little ritual on everyone again, repeating it when necessary.

"We may not have reached our destination but I believe we still learned something. If nothing else, we know the wilds are more dangerous than we originally thought. And in the knowing lies success for a future venture. It will happen soon enough. Besides, we did get the sinews Tianulien needs and the wolf pelts. As for your work, Forge, I have some metalworking supplies, ingots of iron and such, that are useless to me except perhaps as trade goods. I've seen how handy that little dagger you carry is and would allow you to use from my supplies if you would craft me a dagger like it."

Again, Angrboda watches with interest as Kaznak performs his ritual. However, she is careful not to interrupt it and, maybe surprisingly, she doesn't comment on it. "Yes, it's time to return and see how the camp has fared. I hope that crazed orc hasn't returned and caused trouble for the camp. Pyre seems capable of handling himself in a fight and appears quite imposing; I'm sure they have been fine."

"A dagger sized for you? Oh I would love to work on that for you." Forge says perking up he starts drawing designs in the dirt with his foot. A moment later he is hefting his pack and carrying the pelt, "Ready," he says eagerly.

Further Travel, Foraging, and a Boar!

Everyone in the expeditionary group eats one of the rations they had with them before, during the day that Angrboda is healing, then on the next day the giantess finds some more greens and a few rabbits to feed the group while they travel.

They travel until nightfall again, before making another temporary camp. The night is fairly quiet and peaceful, aside from some crickets and other typical night-time noises in the forest.

********************************

Back at the main camp, Pyre and Metliz head towards where the squeal came from, ready for danger, while Tianulien just stands up, grabbing her shortbow and an arrow from her quiver nearby.

Running through the undergrowth ahead of Pyre and Metliz, towards them and the camp, is a wild boar! Almost as long as Metliz is tall, the boar snorts and continues towards them, raising its head a bit to better display the sharp tusks protruding from the edges of its mouth.... You don't see what's gotten it so riled up, but the boar certainly doesn't look friendly!

[sblock=OOC]Sorry for the delay, but we'll resume normal updates here. Hopefully Theroc won't be without his internet connection for too long. Willette/Elldar, are you still with us? Been a long time since ya posted.

I need to know if the expeditionary group was heading further northward today, or for half the day, before turning around and heading back south towards the main camp.

Pyre and Metliz, I need an Initiative check from each of you, and a round 1 action if you beat the boar's Initiative of 16. I'll roll for Tianulien and handle her action when I update with the boar's action.[/sblock]
