The gods didn't go epic!

No, they aren't going to "rerelease". Nor should they.

Read the comments by the others above. It isn't interesting to purchase a book with a few minor changes. WotC has stated that they are trying to keep the books independant of each other.

If it is important for your campaign, you can sit down and assign appropriate epic feats to the deities you are using in your campaign faster then the amount of time you spent commenting this here on this board. You want Kord to be 40th level fighter, instead of 20 fighter/20 Barbarian? Fine. Do it. The reason is, when the Deities and Demigods was published, in 3.0 there was no definition in the core rules of what occured beyond 20th level.

Well I just want to know why Kord isn't level 40 fighter insted he is level 20 fighter and level 20 barbarian...my point was why do none of the gods not have more than 20 levels in a single class, and i don't recall seeing any epic feats...

Personally, I think he would fit better as a Bbn40 than a Ftr40.

If you don't like the gods as their stats are now, why don't you restat them? I've seen others do the same, and I've even done some of my own. One statting I saw of Kord had him as a Legendary Dreadnought.

I don't think they should have stats listed for the gods at all. While in my games the gods don't have infinite power nor are they omnipotent (just like mythological dieties in many culutures) I don't think they should stat them out and I don't like the rules from deities and demigods in general (gods shouldn't roll max constantly, thats just dumb imo).

Personally, I have a hard time with the DDG and ELH being independent, largely because giving the gods stats doesn't make much sense in a non-epic campaign. For the stats in DDG to really have meaning, one would need to be running games in which mortals interacted with the gods; mortals of 20th-level or below aren't really capable of doing so on a level that would ever require stats. [Now, of course, I would have preferred a deity book without stats or with avatar stats only, and the main emphasis being on creeds, worship rituals, deity-specific magic, monsters, and sample temples, kinda like The Divine and the Defeated or the excellent 2e FR gods books. But that's beside the point.]

For more epic-consistent material, you may want to check out the reworked deities at dicefreaks.com .

i like to think that gods have unlimited power... :uhoh:

Most mythological polytheistic deities aren't described as having "unlimited" power. Just power far beyond mere mortals.

The concept of "all-powerful gods" is an odd modern cross-pollination of judeo-christianity with are non-believed mythology.

One of the pros of having god-stats is that, if a DM wants to run his own version of the Olympians vs. Titans wars, he can. THAT is epic! :)
