The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 3, Minute 11
Mab pulls the lid of the compartment from the wall and, carefully placing it where it would have been determines quickly that it was probably a hidden compartment. Watching over her shoulder, Earth sees a water-logged imprint in the wood, as though something was sitting on top of it most of the time. Looking around, the cabin, a small crate discarded in a corner seems to be the most likely culprit.
Mab also determines that the seemingly home-crafted secret compartment has no mechanical locks and yet Earth spots gouge-marks in the wood around it and the lid itself seems to be bent as though it took great strength to pull it free...
Meanwhile, Illarion prowls around the ship and notices that the cabin's two doors both lock and the one you didn't come through is still locked. Presumably both were and yet the door you came through isn't damaged. Investigating the lock itself, he finds no evidence that is was picked, at least by natural tool-based methods that is. Either it was unlocked from the inside or someone on the outside used supernatural means to gain entrance... or both.
Devinihm examines the compartment and finds more of those short silver-gray hairs that were found at the other scenes. There doesn't seem to be a false bottom and the compartment is solid on the sides as well.
The compartment bottom, however, does seem to be made of different wood than the sides, a rare wood called golden-bough best known its shavings that are used in certain rituals - scribing magical scrolls and the like. Devinihm has never seen a whole panel of it before...
