The impact of removing full-round actions

We have only seen one example of combat so far, and we don't know for sure whether full-attack and full-round actions are removed...

But in the example we saw the dragon clearly making multiple attacks with a standard action. We don't know yet if it takes a special ability or a special weapon for that. The PC in the same example aren't making multiple attacks so we don't know if it works differently for them.

But what if multiple attacks (whatever is needed to make them) are going to cost only a standard action in 4e? What are the good/bad consequences of this? How will combat change really?

It's been suggested that combat at leats could be a little more "dynamic" if you never have to give up your move action. What do you think?

That's a good point. Especially if they expand on the old Mobility feat tree to make movement in combat easier. IIRC, iterative attacks were removed in the SWSE, so perhaps they're gone here, too?

The full round action being gone is ok i guess, but why couldnt this be done in a revision of 3e instead of a new edition?

I suspect this might not be the only change they're making :)

errr because, as printed onthe front page, there are a dozen other major changes to makethings more innovative. You can only put so much make up on before you become a woman.

Does it even matter that full attacks are gone if everyone suddenly has an ability to make multiple attacks with a stanard action? Especially if the ability that grants the extra attacks is only usable if you, hmm, lets say don't move more than 5' that round? Lol.
