That's proof that your DM has spent too much time in optimization forums.

Spell-Like Ability Caster Level. ;)

Regarding the HD increase: Wow. It seems legally correct, though very strange in that spells that increase size do not seem to grant such large bonuses.

In retrospect, this is probably part of the reason the Babau did not come with an official LA. Nevertheless, as with the Persians and Medes, it is generally best if a DM's pronouncements are not revoked, and so Babau remains unchanged (and probably, hands-down, the best option for a melee monster.)

11,000 gp for... 7500 points of healing, as opposed to 281 gp for 50d8+50, roughly 275 HP. A better deal, but I'd rather be guaranteed more than that in two rounds than more or less than that in fifty. I'll make sure Arxas saves a few thousand gold to funnel towards the artificer for that kinda thing.

I've got a wand of Inflict Critical Wounds that I can pump to about 50hp per charge, and I can boost Gabriel's Wand of Cure Light Wounds to heal around 11hp as needed, so we *should* be okay until the Staff is finished.

Speaking of the Staff, once it's finished, I'll be able to expend a 4th-level infusion to add Twin Spell to it for a few hours, doubling the healing to 300hp

As near as I can tell, everyone except Rose and Gabriel have access to either teleportation or fast healing. I can give their armor Etherealness in a pinch, so we should be able to escape and regroup as needed until the staff is completed.

Yep, I agree, Babau tends to be on the overpowered side. But, since it's allowed (I and decided before I realized this), I'll stick with it! ;)

I've decided not to make my character an undead. Realistically, he'll be one of the front line fighters, so he'll need the constitution bonus HPs. So...unfortunately, I'm dropping the spellstiched template (unless anybody knows how to make a living outsider have access to the spellstitched template).

Moritheil, how much would a continously functionning hat of disguise cost?

Thanks and cheers,

SG
