"That sounds like a fine plan to me. Let us rest here for the night and then we can return to report our findings tomorrow."

Cheysuli Sage

I'll leave you to divvy up the spoils, though some is obvious. Careful, Miranna, it stings. He hands the sword to Miranna and the Rod to Chey. Yishim splits the gold evenly among the party (46 each).

Now then - who is the spy in Maoleth, who is the Shadowed One, and who is Zal'Ekthees? What a mystery we've uncovered. I suggest we return to Maoleth and see if we can't flush the spy out of hiding. Perhaps in our report we can pretend to have found a coded message which should identify the spy... and let him come to us!
Cheysuli takes the rod and gold from Yishim with thanks, then listens carefully to his questions. When he is finished she answers in a quiet voice, tiered from the long sortie.
"The shadowed one is probably the worm directing these kobold's raids; from a safe distance mind you. I would not be surprised if he was this 'master of the keep' that the wyrmpriest mentioned. Zal'Ekthees, from what I have heard, is a rather nasty demon that has his eyes on achieving godhood; he has something to do with undeath." Cheysuli spits the foul word, shivering slightly at the idea of something so against nature. "The Iron General's mage said she suspected that he had something to do with what is going on up here, but she could not prove it."

"As for the spy? That is not a bad plan, devious and simple." She gives the wizard a new appraising look, noticing that Yishim noticed her looking, she quickly breaks her gaze and moves the conversation on; "I think with this scroll we will have all the support we need from Lord Hashtesh to root out the evil that plagues this valley. Perhaps he can let the false information that we know who the spy is fall 'accidentally' into the right hands."
"We must get back to town and find this spy. Hopefully Shayla will not be taken in once she returns... I think though, that we have had a long tough day. We ought to camp, then make our way back to town in the morning."
"I whole heartedly agree, what I could do with now is a nice broth, some waybread and time to lay back and relax a while. There is still plenty of dry venison, unless you guys are sick of it by now?" She looks to Miranna and Brenwar expectantly.

"But as I suggested before; I would quite like to find some way of preventing this cavern from being used again in the future. Perhaps we can force a collapse or something?"
She spends a moment studying the rock formations around the head of the waterfall, and the ceiling of the cave; looking for a weak point that could be of use.

[sblock=Dungeoneering] I only have a +1 in this skill, so if someone else wants to give it a go, i'll make this roll an assist:

[sblock=OOC]Keep the necklace & sword - We've got our own wishlists. Let's go and head back to town and try to flush out the spy. That and maybe someone will know the reference to the keep. I can thunderwave the ceiling, but that seems to be a quick path to death. I'm ready to hit the town unless someone wants to try something else.[/sblock]
Chey, it's an idea, but I'm worried we won't know the impact of trying to drop the ceiling. My vote is to just leave it and hustle back to town. And if our ruse to flush out the spy doesn't work, perhaps someone knows where the keep that is referenced is.

[sblock=Short Rest]Use two healing surges and Song of Rest, which gives me 19 more hp, bringing it back up to full. Song of Rest doesn't stack, so you only get the bonus once. :|[/sblock]

In the moment of repose, Firete gets out her harp and a sings a lyric that assists her ecovery with her own wounds as well as other in the party. After joining the search of the cavern she rejoins the others near the waterfall.

Are planning to spend the night here? Firete asks the others, looking uncertainly around the cavern at the remains of their battle. It is rather...unsightly. She turns to Chey. I am sorry I cannot amend your request for a better fare than dried venison, as I have knowledge of how to summon spirits to create a hidden camp for us, but lack the necessary reagents to do so.

[sblock=OOC Translation]I have Create Camp but no Nature components, didn't have enough money at the end of my build :([/sblock]

But there an idea in collapsing this cave, that you say, she continues, examining the wall with Chey.

[sblock=Dungeoneering]Dungeoneering (1d20+3=21) That would be 26 with the assist, right?[/sblock]

"You bring up an interesting point Yishim, if we cause the river to change course; the results could be dire, I had not thought."

"I do not think it would be wise to spend the night in the caves; we could end up with some unwanted visitors in the night, but somewhere nearby. Maoleth is a good number of hours hike from here and I expect the town gates would be closed by the time we arrived."

"The venison is not bad fare, indeed; it is only a couple of days since Patronis and I felled the stag, but it was a large beast, and we have been having venison quite a lot since then!" Chey's mood seems to be brightening with talk of setting up camp.

[sblock=OOC]2heads; what was the XP for that last encounter?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]My other ritual, Traveller's Chant, I can do for free and we'll get there faster. We look at the speed of the slowest of the party and add 2, my guess [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]This encounter was worth 500 xp a piece. This isn't an official "here's your xp post". I'm only going to do those when it means someone's going to level up.

Also, Song of Rest boosts each surge spent. It just doesn't stack with a second bard's Song of Rest.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]OK, sounds like we''re all done here. I'll do it IC. Maybe Travelller's chant would be a good idea, Katana, if you want to roll it. Let's head back, after we all get a short rest.[/sblock]
Katana, I would normally agree - a marching song to speed our journey would hopefully get us there faster. However, we need to bring the Emissary's body with us. As far as that, I think I can help, as he doesn't look too light.

Yishim rummages in his pack to draw out pouches and vials of components. Over the next 10 minutes, he chants in an arcane tongue, drawing patterns in the air and miming the act of lifting a heavy object. When he's complete, a shimmering platform appears in front of him.

Brenwar, help me load the Emissary and Wyrmpriest's bodies onto this platform. It should hold them just fine, and will follow us as we trek back to town. Firete, unfortunately your chant won't be able to help this magical platform move any faster, and so we'll be slowed down by it on our way home.

With that, Yishim shoulders his pack and with the group back into marching formation, they come out of the waterfall - wary for an ambush on the other side.
[sblock=OOC Assuming Nothing happens]We continue on to town. Arcana Check (1d20+9=23) Tenser's disk holds 500 lbs. Oh, by the way guys, do you mind if you each take 42 gold instead of 46 so I can keep 20 on top of my share to replenish my components? Let me know OOC and if I get 2 agreements I'll consider it so.[/sblock]

OOC: Looks like consensus is to head back to town, rather than camp and head back tomorrow. Bringing the scroll and the Emissary's body with us for the lord and his people to go over. That sound right for everybody?

If that is the case, Miranna will spend 2 surges (7 base +5 for Song of Rest= 12 HP each to get back to full HP). I'd guess we 'level up' back in town, after an extended rest?

"A marching song did you say?" Firete laughs "The Travellers Chant is not a marching song that I perform as we walk, such things can lead to...accidents, if you take my meaning," she says with a wink. "I sinply perform the chant before we set out, and anyone who is able to hear it is affected. However, our rate of travel is dependant on the amount of movement the slowest in our party is able to travel, and the slowest I think are myself and Brenwar."

[sblock=Pathfinder]Miranna doesn't have speedless than 5, does she? [/sblock]

"When we are ready to depart, I shall perform the chant," she says, sheathing her sword and tuning her harp.

[sblock=Traveller's Chant]Okay, I can perform this sans components as I can perform one Bard ritual per day without them. And there's no skill check, which is great. The slowest in our party (me and Brenwar) have a speed 5 which brings it up to seven. The ritual lasts for 8 hours. Which means we can walk 28 miles under it's influence, and that's walking non-stop for 8 hours. We can walk 3.5 mph. So, two important questions. How far is it to town? And how much daylight is there left?
BTW, did you really think I was going to sing all the way? "March, march march back to town!" ;) I may be a bard, but I'm not Elan![/sblock]
