The Jade Frontier, part 2 (DM: THB, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Yes, to the south, then.[sblock=light]Do we need the sunrods to see here? Or is it already lit to some extent?

I guess if we need our sunrods we have no chance of surprise.[/sblock]

Do we need the sunrods to see here? Or is it already lit to some extent?

I guess if we need our sunrods we have no chance of surprise.

This place is definitely lacking in interior lighting. Unless one of you has darkvision in their pocket, you're going to want a sunrod.

And yes, carrying a nuclear torch around does tend to give away your position.[/sblock]

The south passage leads to some manner of mausoleum. There are rows of granite sarcophagi along the walls, each one standing upright and depicting an armored warrior on the cover. The crypt opens up to the east. It's difficult to tell from the entrance and with the overpowering light of the sunrods, but it appears that a faint silvery glow is coming from this eastern chamber.

[sblock=Perception 20]You think you can hear some soft whispering from the east as well.
[sblock=Perception 25]It sounds like the whisperer is whispering in Tsugo.[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=In other words...]Just to make sure everything is clear, there are ten sarcophagi, five on the north wall and five on the south. Each sarcophagus is facing another sarcophagus on the opposite wall. The entrance is between pairs two and three. The room continues on to the east.

And yes, I lied about the lighting situation, but the silvery glow isn't really enough to see by.[/sblock]

[sblock=Also...]What's your rough marching order? Brenwar, Miranna, Chey, Yishim, Firete? Always difficult to figure out who would be last. Players are so paranoid about attacks from behind.[/sblock]

[sblock=Perception] 1d20+3=23 Two crits in a row, what ar the odds of that?[/sblock]

[sblock=Marching order]Firete will take up the rear.[/sblock]

Looking around the room, Firete quickly held up a hand. Can you hear that? There's someone speaking...somewhere to the east.

Cheysuli strains to hear what Firete is talking about, but can't hear anything unusual. Still she doesn't ignore the possible danger and keeps her guard up, ready to launch fiery devastation upon anything that takes the party by surprise.
"To the East you say, can you tell how far away? Can you hear what is being said?" She whispers to the half-elf.

//Perception 1d20+4= 16//

"I heard it too- more goblins maybe?," Miranna whispered harshly. "Keep an eye on those sarcophagi too- necromancy means undead. "

OOC: 1d20+3=23 (Crit); roll Roll Lookup ; good enough to hear but not enough for more; Miranna is willing to take point unless Chey wants it.

"Indeed, I wouldn't complain about more divine servants with us if we are going to be fighting the undead. Luckily however the majority of my prayers will have a great effect on the common undead."
