The Land of the Seven Realms: Opening Moves

I may not have access over the next day or two so will go ahead and let you know Smiles' move.

He will move to be in flanking position versus Tragus (taking a 5' step only if possible, if not taking a move equivalent action tumbling around the merchant into position) and attack with his sap again.

That man said "The serpent take you"! He must be here to kill me and Smiles!, thinks Gwyn.

Gwyn moves next to the fallen Ian and begins to chant:

Great spirits of my ancestors, take this man's sight!

Gwyn waves her mailed hand at the bodyguard, and his face is struck by smoke as she casts Blindness (DC 16 Fort save).

Then, as a free action, she draws her tower shield, and as another free action sets it facing north.

IC: Sparrow gets ready to put another arrow into the Merchant if Tragus is unabletyo subdue him soon.

OoC: i.e.: I'll shoot the bastard again if tragus/whoever doesn't take him down by the time I act again.
That map program (someone posted it in my ;help with maps 'thread) doesn't let me see what you created.
It wont let me paste, just keeps putting sword/shield icons instead whenever I rightclick.
And I am hardly the hippy elf...:D I do like trees, though.

To the Action:

Gwyn's invocation to the spirits of her ancestors bears fruit, as the bodyguard staggers, cursing, blinking sightless eyes.

The farmers, innkeeper, and serving girls recover from their shock at all the doings in their midst. The farmers draw daggers, two of them lift chairs, and the four men look ready to defend their little corner of the tavern against all comers.

The innkeeper, a man of great practicality, simply drops behind his counter.

The two serving girls, both teens, screech and dive under the nearest tables.

Beginning of next round:

The bodyguard staggers away from Taem, taking a potion bottle from his pouch as he does. One of his kukri is dropped on the floor in the process. Grimacing, he drinks the potion down, and a blue glow washes over his body. When it fades, he is apparently able to see, and crouches like the experienced knife fighter he is.

Smiles slips behind the merchant, tumbling a bit to avoid get slashed in the process. He slams his sap hard at the merchant's head, but the man moves aside smoothly.

Tumble (roll 5 + 11 = 16) success
Attack ( roll 9 + 5 = 14 ) miss

The merchant snarls, and dives, tumbling, over the counter, taking a potion from his pouch as he does. Coming to his feet near the door to the personal quarters, he drinks down the potion, and many of his injuries seem to fade away.

Tragus, your action?
 


OOC: OK, nevermind the intended haste action posted above for Kintys...

Kintys moves along the east wall to the window nearest her. She opens the shutter and looks to see what she can see. She asks Tamna: The men who were coming toward us--how close are they? Can you pinpoint them for me? I'd like to stop them from getting inside. Do they stand together, or spread out?

She prepares her spell components, readying a fireball if she can get a good read on the men's position.

OOC: If Tamna can answer her this round and a position is available, and she can pull aside the drapes and shutters easily, and she can target at least two of them, Kintys will launch the fireball as her standard action (having already moved to the window.) DM's call as to whether this totals more than a round's worth of action.

Fireball stats: 5d6, Ref [DC 18] half.

Tragus growls something that sounds a lot like "Damn smartass rogues" as he goes around the counter, collecting his shield as he does. (Eating and drinking and such while fully armored and shielded is no picnic) As he reaches the merchant, he slams his hammer into the man again. The merchant again seems seriously wounded, as new injuries replace those the potion healed.

Warhammer Attack: (roll 12 + 8 = 20) hit.
Damage: (roll 6 + 2 = 8)

Kintys sends her request for information, and Tamna seems a bit put out by this continued interruption in her feeding. "Three men with shinies are at the big wooden hole, I think they want in. Two men, with sticks like Tragus has, are heading to the smaller holes at the front."

Kintas only has to step to get to a window, and launch her fireball, past a surprised man holding a light crossbow. The fireball explodes at the door of the inn, and two of the three men there collapse,screaming as they are burned.

The third seems to simply backflip away from the flames.

Fireball Damage 5d6 (roll 19)

Taem, your action?
 

Seeing his friend injured and being fired upon unexpectedly in a dishonorable manner triggers something inside Turik. His tentative grip on his anger begins to loosen and he flies into a berserker rage, standing up and charging at ambusher, swinging his bastard sword in his fury.
 

Taem moves forward, over the dropped knife, and leaps in to the air in a spinning kick, first brining his right foot and then his left foot around at head level. His eyes are half-closed, and he breathes evenly.

ooc: Flury of blows. And is it possible to get the +1 bonus from fighting on higher ground from leaping in the air? If not, no worries, but I figure it's worth asking. :)
