The Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

I think one thing about Mando S3 is that it was trope subverting. At the end of S2 it looked like he was being King Arthured into a destiny of leading the Mandalorians. In S3 he dodges that destiny and Excalibur is destroyed, seemingly for good. And everyone says "good, now we can have a ruler chosen by the people rather than by destiny". Oh, and rebuilding Mandalore is going to be a hard labour that takes many generations, not a Camelot built in one person's lifetime.

It looks like the movie may focus on legacy. The key point being that Din is aware Grogu will be around for a long time after he is gone, so what kind of galaxy does he want to make for him?

For folks who are fully on board with the Mandalorian, I'm sure this will be great, but the trailer gives me a vibe of being pretty incomprehensible unless you've seen the whole show, plus the terrible Boba Fett series.

I had thought Disney had realized that giving audiences homework was a huge mistake with the MCU, but maybe that message hasn't reached the Star Wars team yet.
I didn't see anything in that trailer that I know more about because of the show, other than Grogu eats anything he can get his hands on.

Nothing in the trailer explains who these people are, why they're charging around all over the place, whether those two shiny ships are somehow connected, or anything other than we're trying to prevent a war.

You have to know who Mando and Grogu are from outside sources to be able to parse the trailer.

And you really need to to know the backstory of Clint Eastwood’s character in A Fistful of Dollars.
