This is from the NY times, so it may just show a paywall for some people:

@Zardnaar and the others in New Zealand posting here, is Temuera as big a superstar in his native New Zealand as he deserves to be?

Yes he's been well known since 1992. He played Doctor Ropata in a soap then Jake the Muss in Once Were Warriors in 1993.

Not the first time we've seen TM go off.

Warning language/content. Not hollywood saccharine.

And 1992

This show is super fun! We just got caught up on Season 2, then started watching Season 1 again.

I feel like the creators of this show really love Star Wars. All the practical effects, the creatures, the callbacks... It's just a fun show to watch.

I also like how each episode is a complete little story. I like that you can turn on any episode and not just watch a bunch of table-setting or a bridge between two other episodes.

I was nervous about the show bringing back Boba Fett, but I thought they were really successful. I'm looking forward to next week!
Watch the "Disney Gallery" series on the making of The Mandalorian Season 1. It's basically the episode directors sitting around a table talking about the craft . . . and how much they love Star Wars!

Dave Filoni knows his naughty word. His additions to the lore have been 99 percent spot on.

Wish I could say the same about the rest of Disney canon which has all been rubbish other than that one scene at the end of RO, and most of the Kylo Ren stuff (before messing up the landing).

I suspect Filoni for storyboarding (he was Lucas's apprentice) and Favreau more big picture stuff eg the Filoniverse.

How many spinoffs would I watch?

Bo Katan yep.
Ahsoka yep.
Fett yep.
Thrawn Yep

Some could overlap. Season 2 only had 1 "eh" episode imho. And it was still decent.

Lets hope Obi Wan and whatever comes after nails it.

What I would love to see is a 'Old Republic' live action series. We've been teased about information about the Sith wars and Mandalorians fighting the Jedi Order (the Dark saber etc) in canon via the animated series (we've met Darth Bane, know there was a Sith temple under the Jedi temple, know the Sith and Jedi have historic beef - and also know the Mandalorians have the same historic beef with the Jedi as well).

In Legends the Mandalorians allied with the Sith to fight the Jedi.

Such a setting would really free them from the current timeline, and would allow some real creative freedom.

They've recanonized a lot of that at least the names. Revan, Old Sith Wars etc.

Details might be different of course.
