The mandalorian [Spoilers]

Maybe this show needs some redshirts.......but if the heroes are going to kill a couple dozen troopers w/o taking a scratch, what is the point of the troopers, story wise? Because there is no drama.....
Like I said, that's Star Wars. In the entire original trilogy Han, Luke, Chewie, and Leia, between them, get hit once (Leia grazed in the arm in Jedi) out of what must be hundreds of shots fired at them.

It’s not a question of hitting redshirts. It’s a question of hitting heroes.
Yeah, but it becomes problematic when the heroes effectively seem to plan for that lack of accuracy. It's one thing when the heroes wind up in a desperate situation and are able to beat the odds and come through unscathed. It's another when they seem to become aware of their own plot-armour and take it into consideration in their calculations.

The three of them, plus their blue sidekick, effectively rocked up to the Imperial base in full expectation that they were going to be able to waltz through there without any significant trouble.

It's similar to the reason why I dislike the Hobbit movies compared to the Lord of the Rings movies. In Lord of the Rings, characters frequently pull off really impressive feats of combat prowess that feel amazing and often really clutch.

In the Hobbit movies they do much the same thing - but they coordinate with each other, in the apparent full expectation that each of them will pull off these incredible moves, first time, every time. And when, on one or two occasions, someone doesn't quite manage it, the other characters treat them as though they've been inexplicably incompetent.

Might be building up to Gideon's new troopers.

If he strip mined Mandalore he would theoretically have access to Beskar.

They can flash imprint clones to some extent, and if he's figured out how to clone force sensitves his new troopers could be mass produced force sensitive Mandalorian equivalents in Beskar armor.

If they manage to kill Ahsoka.....

Not just theoretically. He is, after all, the guy in charge of the guy who paid the Mandalorian a whole bucket of Beskar to retrieve the Child.
If they manage to kill Ahsoka.....
Nevermind kill. She may not have as high an "M-Count" as the Child, but she's got a lot more blood than he does. She may be a more viable donor.

Like I said, maybe I'm hoping for more from the show than I did in 1976. Also like I said, maybe that's just not going to happen.

Luke also got shot in the cyborg hand by one of Jabbas mooks.

He also got his hand chopped off and smacked in the face by a Wampa

This was for me the weakest episode so far, I still enjoyed it, but I feel it could've been improved in a few ways:

A) Make it clear that the random blue guy is being dragged along for a good reason, maybe he has experience of Imperial Tech (which is sort of implied, but stating it up front would help), that would give a good reason for him being there
B) Somehow make it clear that the majority of guards at the base are rookies or the dregs, I'm guessing a stretched empire would have to make up numbers
C) When disabling the safety seals have them roll a success with a complication "hey guys the seals are deactivated, but i I errr somehow tripped the bases security" explains them having to shot their way out as well as gives the blue guy more of the bumbling oaf development
D) Make it so not all the troops are hellbent on killing/capturing Mando & crew, they are there to protect the base, show them desperately trying to re-engage the seals
e) have the lava flow wipe out a couple of the low flying ties as the heroes just make it out in time only to be confronted by the final Tie which Razor crest deals with

Not big changes but I feel it would have given the episode better flow

Well, it is known that Mandalorian armor is really good armor, certainly better than Stormtrooper plastic. It can block lightsabers, why not blaster bolts?
I believe the word you're looking for is plastoid (not to be confused with plasteel, which is a bit sturdier)

Technically, Leia eats a stun blast in ANH as well. Also, one of Jabba's goons hits Luke in his cybernetic hand in RoTJ. Your point still stands though.

There are two stormtroopers who go to stop the self-destruct. They're the ones watching as Mando knocks one of their fellows into the lava.

I was worried for a moment that they would actually succeed in stopping the base from blowing up.
