The Monty Python TTRPG Kickstarter Just Went Live!

Monty Python's Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Programme, the offical licensed Monty Python roleplaying game, just went live on Kickstarter!

It's $25 for the PDF, or $65 for the hardcover ($95 for the special edition). You can also pick up a whole bunch of accessories -- dice, tokens, a screen, even a dice catapult!

The game is a rules-lite system (with spam!) and, while set in mediaeval England, draws on Monty Python's entire catalogue.

You can choose to play a Cleric, Enchanter, Hermit, Knight, Monarch, Monk/Nun, Ne’erdowell, Noble, Peasant, or Troubadour. You'll also have up to five Traits like Valour, Wisdom in the Ways of Science, and so on.

The dice appear to include d18s, d16s, and d14s. There's also a d30!

The Kickstarter has a high funding goal of $200k, which is made in the first hour. Currently it is racking up a thousand dollars every few seconds — chances are this might be a new million dollar campaign, after a lull in them these past few months.

Seriously. Whoever does the "gamer retirement home" well is going to make a killing.
The dream is me and the other elders just play different RPGs everyday. Saturday is D&D. Sunday is Shadowrun. Monday is Vampire. Tuesday is Star Trek. Random One-Shot Wed. etc etc.

Though more than likely I will be homeless after I am to old to work but hey me and the other homeless can play D&D after we panhandle all day.

Oh, have some optimism. The world will probably end long before you'd be too old to work any more.

Question is how it will end. Death by catapulted bovines? The Black Beast of Argh? Foul tempered rabbits? Holy Hand Grenades? Coconuts dropped by African swallows? So many options!

Suffocation and crushing. A bookcase of unused and unread RPG books will tip over and end us all.

What the heck is going on in the Comments section of that Kickstarter? Lots of comments from someone called "ImagiNation Studio" have been removed by Kickstarter over the last couple of hours. It looks like--nah, it can't be.

EDIT: looks like an over-zealous Canadian game creator was trying to plug their own KS in the comment section.

This is the first Kickstarter I have ever backed and I did it at the $220 level, as I think the normal cover is more Python than the fancy brown leather-like cover.

It is also now just short of 1.5 million dollars, with 24 days still to go.

Inconceivable!

No wait, sorry. Wrong licensed Kickstarter RPG.

I’m passing on this one, so far, even though I dearly love Monty Python. My dedicated RPG shelves are quite full, and I can’t imagine ever playing it.

They’ve put together quite an entertaining campaign though!

Ditto. Tapped out my KS budget, and at most this would have been played as a one-off. Happy to see it doing so well though.

By that point though, technology will have advanced far enough that even as homeless folk, you could livestream it on some platform, have an account that people could subscribe/donate through, and wouldn't have to worry about being homeless. People these days just seem to be suckered enthralled to pay to see people play games on the Internet.

The Monty Python RPG Kickstarter is in its last two days. They're at $1.7 million. I wonder how high it will get by the end.

They put out a quickstart, but you have to hand over your personal info to Exalted Funeral to get their "free" PDF.

It may get to 2 Mill but no way it reaches 2.5 Mill
