The new classes nicknames!

Tehnai

First Post
So back in the days, we had CODzilla, Batman... yeah...

One of my players and myself started extrapolating on the new nicknames of every classes!

Here I go, feel free to add anything.

The Cleric

Nickname: Magical girl (Also Sakura, Sailor Moon)

Justification: Alright, think about the cleric black (yay for using the dev colors!) we have. It's called cascade of light Think about it! The cleric brandishes the thing some otherworldly being gave him/her and, after fancy moves and a monologue, shoots a big beam of light on the bad guy... All we need now is a transformation sequence.

The Fighter

Nickname: Katamari

Justification: Well, the goal of the fighter is to gather as many bad guys on him as possible, and stick said badguys to himself. They can't move, and after they're dead (he gets XP, thus gets bigger) he can lock in bigger enemies on his sticky fighter body.

Are you kidding me? The Warlock is, was, and always will be a magical girl. The cleric doesn't even compare.

Examine the 3e warlock.

1: Flies.
2: Carries a scepter.
3: Shoots beams of magic at people.
4: Is charismatic.
5: Has a special recovery once per day that lets her regain hit points in the middle of battle.

I could go on.

The Ranger

Legolas? Though I'm tempted to call the ranger The Costner or merely Kevin.

The Rogue, Artful Dodger Build

Oliver

Woot! I'm a Ranger :D.

I could see the rogue as an Oliver.

Paladin = The Hoff (knightrider); I foresee most games in my group having a german paladin. lol

I utterly lack the cultural frame of reference to comprehend what you're saying here. Did I miss out on something? I don't even know what the word "katamari" means. I tried googling the word, and all I got was a bunch of pictures like this:

What does that have to do with fighters?

Katamary Damacy is a game where you roll a ball that sticks to things, it starts small and can only grab small itens, getting more itens make the ball get bigger, enabling you to grab bigger itens and so on.

The analogy is that the designers called the fighter a defender because he gets abilities that alow him to "stick" to his enemies, so a higher level fighter can stick to higer level monsters and so on.
