The Old Fogy Story!!! Story Time

Hunter vs. Hunted idea with a manipulative villain behind it. Someone who knows and uses people's weaknesses and allegiances to get everyone involved in the fray, including those (like Krystal) who tend to stand on the side and help from a distance where it is safe.

The "taken off one-by-one" was done relatively recently with the ice lich storyline so you guys probably shouldn't repeat that.

For reference, three storylines involving old-timers that at least Kat noticed but also seemed to have some other newcomers paying attention:

1) ice lich
2) "mirror" people
3) war on Celestia

I've a group of some villians I play here and there, maybe knowing one or two in town but thats it. They are up for grabs if anyone wishes them pulled. Even to get the ball rolling. I've one that fits what you describe Dontella. But there are some that would rather one of my chars not be behind it. And thats alright too. Just an offer...

Again I am up for anything, though I am thinking perhaps what would make old foggies get riled up. Perhaps the loss of something precious to them all...Sir Bargolem?

It's a thought, I'm not sure if it would be workable. But it is someone we're ALL connected to, and our characters know 1. We're not allowed behind the bar, 2. Rarely are Wizos about anymore who serve at the bar...

An idea nothing more. Just trying to find a common bond between some old folks good and evil to join up for something.

*done rambling*

You'd have to ask Siani and Adele about that one, but I suspect the answer would be "no" purely because it would be considered a disruption to the room/setting...
The higher level would be "our good friend the animate object missing" but the lower one would be "tavern without its barkeep, excuse for theft etc". Realistically put, if the tavern owner didn't have someone at the bar there 24/7 a tavern owner would have to close during the unmanned hours.

If either golem were possible, I'd say younger brother FG would be the more likely...

But only Adele can say yea or nay on this. ;)

Old fogy, new evil reporting in!

I like the idea of finally getting something going, and since I see there's a possible need for a new evil group, I thought i would propose the Emerald Fist, a group of Yuan-ti set on reviving their dead Goddess and creator. How do they revive her you ask? one of two ways:
1. Adding to their number and converting people to the worship of their Goddess, accomplished often through a ritual process of turning captives into Tainted ones or, in the result of a failed ritual, broodguards
2. Ritualistic sacrifice. They believe that humanoid sacrifice, when performed properly, not only dwindles the number of the humanoids who hate them because of what they are, but also appeases their Goddess and brings them one step closer to reviving her, an event they believe will result in her devouring the world and taking her children to a place of eternal bliss.

It's an idea I've discussed with a few people *prods Jeajea for one, whom she gave an honorary first member badge* and I'm currently trying to get going. I'm working up schematics for the details of the society and hoping to get a web site plastered up one of these days, more likely than not held together by duct tape, but there none the less ;)

So, on that note a possible storyline that could result from this.

The Grand Temple is nearly completed, and by decree this new holy (or unholy as you see it) ground must be sanctified through the sacrifice and/or conversion of *insert random number that sounds good* individuals. Unfortunately, the time is closing in, and there are not nearly enough victims for this ritual, so the Emerald Fist has resorted to raiding Juxta, the crossroads of the multiverse, to acquire the needed number of people for the ritual.

Just a base thought, and only one of many possibilities if the Fist is used in this storyline. Thought I would toss this idea in here since it was on my mind, but I'll be back after a bit of brainstorming.

Okies, Plots.. let’s have a vote then, or something?

1 One of us from the inside of the group systematically begins taking us all out one by one. The question is who, and why? This person doesn't have to be one of the more shadier among us, in fact, it'd be better I think if it weren't. (this doesn't necessarily mean those "taken out" would die...)

2) I could bring Laurendyll back. Somehow, those with grudges against members of the group manage to get together... and decide to work together to meet their ends. People could then divide up into "don't want to get involved" "hunted" and "hunters". People wouldn't necessarily know it was them, and a few disappearances without explanation...

3) Word comes of a need for adventurers, and somehow, each of us gets a personal invite. But when we go to the meeting place, things turn out much different. The war/military action we were called to was a hoax, and now we are to be pitted against each other for someone else's amusement. Those who don't participate get... punished.

4. There is a group of Blackguards of Bane

5.Guild Wars ( would require moderator permission, to have Guilds established in whatever area )

6) I like the Hunter vs. Hunted idea to build off Krystal.. Differing factions, based on a single principle, that leads to conflict and strife.. and in fact is urged on by a third party, for either their amusement or profit.

7) And to build off something in another thread.. a group of charismatic persons begin to build a following to a new god, new idea, or new principle, and win the masses over to their beliefs.. and seek to remove those who would oppose them. This would require the new villains to be charming, and stealthy.. and would require a bit more effort, as they would be a subtle and seductive evil, rather than in your face evil.

8. Perhaps the loss of something precious to them all...Sir Bargolem?

9. The Emerald Fist, a group of Yuan-ti set on reviving their dead Goddess and creator. How do they revive her you ask? one of two ways:

Of course I have to toss in a vote for number 9...I'm partial ;)

That aside, and on a slightly more serious note, I like idea number one, and it's something that, I don't think, has been done on Wizzies before or at least in a very long time.

A few things I would suggest we avoid because it's probably be overdone (in fact most of them *I* have probably done at least once or twice and then seen done by someone else):

1. Possession of a character by outsider/otherworldly force who then begins turning on friends...good plotline, but overdone >.<
2. Celestial Wars...again, good idea, but done alot, considering (Kat also mentioned that this had been done recently, which relatively yes it has)
3. plain old kidnapping...not to say kidnapping shouldn't be used, but I think we could put a damn good twist on it to where it seemed new and fresh if we do use it, and not just use plain old lots of people being nabbed, ya know :)

So, I toss in my votes for number one/six, three, nine for the moment

I would like some expansion on the Blackguards idea, being that I play one of them too, since that idea has been popped up here, and also some expansion on number two (has to admit she doesn't know Laurendyll  )

I vote 1,3, and my own bg idea but probably not possible with that one as Pounamu said. And frankly the idea of FG missing would make a couple of my chars happy...Moondyre has hated him for a long time. And has tried pitting BG against FG so BG can remove the horrible golem from Juxta. LoL

3 sounds good because it can be played at leisure. If someone misses a day or two they can still return and go back to fighting with one time friend Dontella. It leave the oppurtunity for other things to branch out. Example feud between Ethera and Dragona, they have verbal spats but then friends of theirs get into the mix and those folks would have a bit of a part in the storyline too.

We want something that is not a daily "have to be there" storyline. Some folks work, have families etc, it has to be a storyline a day or two missing won't horribly impact someone. Or make them seek out other players to fill in missing blanks.

Just my thoughts ;)

Three sounds pretty interesting, actually. It's rather original, and it doesn't require players to make and establish new characters solely for the plot - therein attracting the attention of outside players. Simple enough that it can be extended with sub-plots and branches, and it also allows recognition for individual acheivement for a change, instead of creating group notoriety.

I think Seven has promise as well, especially by promoting the classy, stealthish 'evil.' Something rare on Wizards, and healthy for the community.

We should aim for something creative, if not totally original. The Celestial/Demon, Undead/Hunter, and whatnot things, is a little stale. IMHO.

So yeah.. I'm split over 3 and 7. Leaning towards 3 simply because I've not seen that done before.
