The Old School: AD&D 1e

OOC: Sorry about missing that round... I'm used to initiative order being spelled out for each combatant. All part of trying the older edition! :)

OOC: No problem. In the rules as written, you announce your actions, then roll initiative, then roll dice and resolve actions, each round. Having read through all the rules, I'm fudging things a bit to keep things moving with an us-them-us-them action resolution system.

Hulan looks about for something to support the lantern or hang the lantern upon so he can better provide support or lend a hand in the fight. " I'm trying to find something to support the lantern so I can better support you." Hulan yells over the din of combat.

OOC if Hulan is able to find something to support the lantern he will do so in an attempt to offer support to those engaged in melee.

Kel misses.
Austin and Zhantain smash a rat apiece!
Amirad performs a daring charge against the remaining rats, rendering them to weak, wounded beings that Lidia and Mo finish off.

The rats are dead. Looking around, Hulan recognizes the human corpse in the room--it is Doman, a rather brash magic-user who always had more courage than sense. He appears to have been done in by the rats, and dragged into their lair.

(For killing the rats, everyone receives 8 xp.)

Mo kneel by the side of the dead mage and mutters a prayer to ease his passing.

"We'd better see what he has on him. There may be something we can use. Can some of you check around for any other way out of here?"

Quickly the cleric investigates Doman's clothes. Then, brushing dirt from her knees she stands up again, ready to carry on.

Austin will also speak a prayer of last rights for the wizard.
Solinar, Nelle tue mani che dò questo bambino, quel le sue corse di passaggio lo porterà alle vostre armi.

[sblock=translation] Into thy hands i give this child, that his passing travels will bring him to your arms.[/sblock]
He then proceeds to look for any other passage out.

Amirad says " What a foul way to go, there is little dignity in a death such as this. This is why I am glad to have comrade in arms such as you with me. I doubt he could have had anything to do with the troubles here if these rats could do him in."

"Hulan what do you think?"

"Once this buisness is over we should perhaps return the body to his family, if he has any in the area . . ."
Amirad removes his own gauntlets, unbuckles Domans cloak, lays him out on his back and then covers him.

Seeing that other are attending to the body, Lidia first examines the ceiling then looks round the chamber looking to see if there are any more exits. If there are additional exits, Lidia will mark the original burrow with a "3".

If there are no other exits, Lidia will carefully examine the walls to see if they were actually dug while pondering aloud. "Now is this dug, in which case its very peculiar that someone went to all the trouble of digging a tunnel that leads nowhere?"

Austin continues to tend to the body, but says to lidia, 'they could be searching for something...and are not entirely sure where it is."
