I don't know if its because of the smaller resolution, but it looks "cleaner" than I remember the old art. Feels like its missing the odd line constructions that gave it a "frayed" look.
I was thinking the same thing. Still can tell it is the same artist, but a little more smooth.

DiTerlizzi recent art looks a lot "cleaner". I like it, but I miss the "dreamlikeness" of 90's DiTerlizzi's art, it fits Planescape perfectly.

He's been honing his craft for 30 years, and this seems to meet that style and the 5E style in the middle.

I think the Fiend Folio posed Githyanki warrior is my favorite part.

I was thinking the same thing - he's hitting the sweet spot between his 2e Planescape style and the current 5e style. Basically, it appeals to the nostalgia of long-term fans, but is close enough to the 5e style to be familiar to new fans, while also different enough to be intriguing for them.
