I'm not sure if it will be "superior". Given the budget and resources available I'm betting it will look more "made for TV movie" than "Hollywood blockbuster", but it is certainly going to be truer to the original story which is the important part for me.

Why the hate for something mainstream? What evidence do you have that the "other one" will be better, other than it doesn't star Tom Cruise and obviously isn't mainstream? I honestly don't understand the penchant amongst my fellow geeks for automatically bagging on anything that looks like it might be popular. Quite frankly, I'm more anticipating the big WotW than the small one.

But yes, I've heard about both of these almost a year ago. I will definately see both.
