The Player's Pledge

It's mostly annoying when they do it when my wife around. Explaining the whole GMing thing to her gets to be embarrasing when that happens...

Just tell her what I tell my wife: "Deal with it, babe."

Sure, you'll have to spend at least a month on the couch, and many gifts of forgiveness will be required, but at least she'll understand D&D.

I have a library of several thousand RPG books. She wouldn't just banish me to the couch, she'd host a book burning!

Heh. Actually, my wife used to game so she's somewhat sympathetic to my obsess-, er, hobby. She just shakes her head when new minis or books arrive at the house. :)

Well I have a hook too. Katy belly dances, does beads, and does stamping and polymer clay... so she can of course, make more beads. When she comments on the brown boxes of books that arrive I can turn about and comment on coils of wire, boxes of beads, and jewelry racks that adorn our bedroom walls bursting with necklaces, bracelets, belly dance stuff, etc.

Actually so long as the book buying doesn't top more than $150 a month she usually wont even make a comment. :) The one thing she does have on me is that belly dancing keeps her in great shape, while gaming keeps me in round shape. :\
