The Retaking of Forgehold - 4E

[sblock=OOC]I really want to finish up the Kobold Hall so we can get to Forgehold. I'm going to give Vargo and Velmont till 9:55pm before pushing forward. , delaying their initiative. I will probably try to avoid moving into round 2 until Monday due to this being a US Holiday.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Never mind what Mearls said. 1 out of 2 round is in practice what most rogue do at low levels. Heck, it's what you did so far.

You need cover/concealment to make the stealth check, which isn't always available, and then you need to succeed the check.

End result; you get to attempt sneak attack maybe 50% of rounds.

100% - [odds of not having cover/concealment available] - [odds failing steatlth check] + [odds of a condition granting combat advantage] = around 50%

It's so obvious that they upped the rogue sneak attack to compensate for the fact that rogues typically don't get it every round that I have no idea what he is smoking when he claims the contrary. Maybe he meant that rogues will try to get sneak attack just about every round, which sounds closer to the truth.

Anyway, I don't know why we are arguing. My points 1 and 2 are actually RAW and 3 was just an IMO observation with no serious bearing on gaming. [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]That would be because I wasn't actively trying to get sneak attack until midway through room 3. Lets take this to the OOC thread
[/sblock]

[sblock=Enemy Stats]

Telsayn and Arden continue taking stock of the situation.

Angel aims a blast of dark energy at the kobold on the right. It's lifeless body topples to the hallway in front of you.

Mira, darts back the way the group had come (N10), using the angle of the passage to hide her actions from the slingers. Once she is in the shadows the girl unleashes a shuriken at the slinger on the left, burying the throwing weapon in the kobold's chest almost completely.

The Kobold shrieks, but does not fall. He notices Mal rushing to clear the hallway
A glue pot flies towards Mal, but it misses him by a fair distance he gets a better view of the room and spies a kobold on a platform in back wearing a distinctive skull helm, with two armored guards at his side.

I'll update fully later but...

As Arden walks into the hall, another waiting slinger ((F6)) covers him solidly in glue, and is the floor in this square worn away like a boulder track? ((9hp))
(1d20 6=25, 1d6 3=9)

OOC: Feel free to change your minor and standard

((Getting rid of glue before passing a save is no longer guaranteed, it should be a DC 20 heal check standard action at least... And no, you can't get leverage to do it yourself.))

[sblock=OOC for Arden]Seriously, give me a new action. keep in mind the kobold is on a ten foot wall so you won't take OAs. And you get a saving throw![/sblock]

The very large noisy boulder is rolling off the platform on the right side of the room, once it leave the platform, it is not clear the exact path it will take. The "hurtling towards you was lame boxed text.
