You move down the west corridor, your path lit by Arden's staff.

You cautiously approach the next chamber, you see the source of the rotting smell. A bloated animal carcass rises out of the sluice covering the floor. The pile of meat and bone is covered with flies. You see a large, dog-sized scorpion tearing at the carcass with its bright purple claws. You can barely make out a second scorpion to the south. The scorpions motions pause as you realize it sees you.

There is no surprise. You are aware of the scorpions, they are aware of you.
You are able to move before they can react.

Guys, remember that you can't 'cut corners' so if anyone wants to move to the scorption in the lower corner he will get an AoO from the scorpio I just attacked. But if anyone is brave enought to risk it, remember that I'll get an Immediate interrupt and will get to hit the Scorpion again. So... knock yourself out. ;)

PS, yeah, in hindsight I could have used tide of iron to move him back but I just really want to wack the bug again! Beside, the ranged character can hit S1 from the corridor with just a -2 for cover. It's a small price to pay for 100% certainty the scorpion can't get you since Mal completely block the access. Beside, if Arden and/or Angel attack S1 from where they stand, they might either kill it or soften it so much that Mal will kill it on the interrupt before it can attack when Ragnar or Aelek move past him and draw AoO.

Arden moves forth a couple of steps and targets the scorpion's attacked by Mal mind.
But in the dim light and extremely bad smell, Arden cannot concentrate properly and the spell fails.

Aelek moves just behind Mal (G3). "Oh damned, no space to manoeuver." He draws a throwing hammer and shoot it at the scorpion Mal is attacking. Trying to avoid Mal, he thow his hammer just too far wide. "Really..."

With no room to charge, Ragnar just moves next to the warrior and attacks the scorpion, while howling a primal scream.

Ragnar surges forward but the Scorpion tries to grab him. The scorpion missed him but Mal got a wicked jab in the side of the scorpion. Mal's small wound caused the scorpion to twist in pain, and Ragnar finshes his charge, splitting open the scorpions exoskeleton.
