The Retaking of Forgehold - 4E

Angel looks up to him with half a smile before looking to her side. "Some extra gold wouldn't be a bad thing, but I hope these two don't get any unwanted attention..." she answers "Now that this savage joined us, I have the feeling they will be like two kids trying to win a boasting contest"

"Playing on two sides at the same time, it can get you either with nothing at the end, or even killed, even if in that case, I doubt it goes that far." he tells before drinking a sip of his ale. "Yeah, I don't know how Mal will recat to Ragnar. When you talk about combat, that guy knows his things pretty well, and Ragnar seems to prefer the simplist hit teh mass tactic, which is not really the style of Mal... well it can be, but he knows he will get out unscrathed from it when he does so."

*Veldarin continues*
"Ah, yes, Mr. Malenkirk I'm glad to see you were not led away from the city by the news of your family. I take it your sister has left instead?"

"House Deluna is very interested in the potential of all newcomers to Forgehold, but reports of you and your companions' exploits simply getting here have made quite an impression on us. We would like to hire you for many missions for the good of our House and your own financial reward. Would you be interested in hearing the terms for the initial mission and the relationship in general?"

Most interested, sir Veldarin, most interested. We came here to see what this site has to offer, in terms of fame, financial resources, and obviously... and here Arden lowers his voice, almost conspirationally, Arcane knowledge... I have heard that House Deluna has powerful arcanists at its service...

[sblock=clarification]Arden is declaring Veldarin to be an arcanist. There is nothing about him other than his race and seeming fairly intellegent that says "wizard" to you.[/sblock]

"Certainly any arcane resources at our disposal might become available to you as your trust and... loyalty are proven."

"This is a matter of utmost secrecy. It is critical that you do not let the dwarf clans in the city know what you are doing. Especially that we are sponsoring you."

"There are several islands in the river. There are some monument and crypts on the islands. many of the dwarves consider them scared, thus our secrecy. We would like you to investigate the southernmost and smallest of these island. There is a very large ornate door which holds an image of the crest of Forgehold's old ruling clan, although it is modified with an 'honored dead' motif. We need to know what the layout of this room of and what inscriptions are on the door, and what color the large central gem is."

"We will reward you to the tune of 150 gold for your assistance. We would ask that all 'salvage' be brought to us whare we would fairly give you your 25% cut. We do not guarantee future employment, nor do we kid ourselves you will not take jobs from others. Do not take a job for anyone else in places you have been for us. That is the only exclusivity we ask you for."
