The Secret World is an MMORPG quite different from any other game in it's genre with some pretty cool investigation and sabotage quests. They did go a bit far with the concept and financially it was a disaster. The game is very good though and now you can get the complete game with 5(?) issues included if you buy it.
You don't have to get a subscription, but if you do it will give you enough Funcom points to get the monthly updates.
