The Tome of Drow Lore - Anyone got it?

Whizbang Dustyboots

Gnometown Hero
I have a lot of problem with how mundane the drow have gotten, and don't want to do anything that, to me, feels a little cheap, like changing their color or making them drow-not-shaped-like-elves or anything. It was suggested that this monster from Mongoose (recently released) would contain enough ideas to help me out with making them more alien while still making them drow.

Any synopses? Reviews?

It was at my FLGS today, but I didn't pick it up yet. I don't use drow much, but it looks like there is a LOT there for someone who does use them. Not the stereotypical boring sprider-worshipping drow either. Some of the monsers and spells looked really cool too, but what impressed me in the book was the sheer amount of fluff! I might pick it up once I hear more about it.

I'm not sure about this. I looked it over at my FLGS yesterday and there is a lot of info on drow in the book. Its all black and white with large illustrated margins, and chapters on drow society, magic, gods, feats, PrC, and essentially claims to be aimed at making the drow mysterious for players again.

I wont buy it until I read a review on it here at Enworld. I wasn't overwhelmed as I was going through it.

I think I was getting it mixup with the Drow War coming out next month: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/home/detail.php?qsID=931&qsSeries=

Yeah the drow campaign doesn't interest me at all. I prefer to design my own campaigns and while I do use prewritten material for some of it, I write my own stuff for a lot of it as well. Running an entire campaign out of a box has little appeal to me. I did buy the WLD, but that was specifically for the purpose of having a filler game going for when we needed a break from the main game. I am interested in the campaign book being put out by Paizo, I hear that its really well done. I might not play the game, but it sounds like it would be an interesting read.
