Sogetsu lives his life by the precepts of Bushido, striving to embody all of its teachings to perfection. His early life as a samurai had been unfulfilling in the Unicorn lands, with little chance to prove himself to be a great Samurai. An unfortunate twist of fate; however, remedied this and set him upon a dangerous path. With word that the Emperor had survived an attempted assassination, Sogetsu was given leave to venture to the capital to defend him. The brave samurai had no idea that this journey would change his life forever and shake the very foundations of his beliefs...

Ishibei is considered by his peers to be too young to stand guard upon the Kaiu Wall, but the samurai would disagree. In his heart, Ishibei wants nothing more than to serve his Empire by protecting it against the Shadowlands…his zealous spirit is only compounded by his devotion to his duties. No job is too small for the fervent warrior; whether it be simple maintenance on the Wall itself or restocking the armory, to Ishibei it is nearly as important as breath itself. However, with the Emperor’s life in jeopardy the fate of Hida Ishibei has become clouded…

Hiryuu is as mysterious as the Void and as distant as the stars. After the death of his sister, Hiryuu has spent the remainder of his life in training and the fulfillment of his clan duties. The lone warrior speaks very little, but his blades more than make up for his silence…some believe that he is attempting to become the greatest fighter of all time, but others divine a more somber purpose for his actions. Whatever his destiny has in store for him, Hiryuu is not afraid. When the time comes, the decendent of Mirumoto will prove himself and a great path shall unfold before him…

Toshio models his life after the great Akodo Toturi, striving to be exactly like him in every way. A gifted leader, Toshio has ascended in status within his family and Lion Clan. His tactics are methodical and bold at once, catching the most seasoned officers off guard at times. His ambition is tempered by the principles of Bushido, bringing both glory and honor to his every action. The young samurai has many conflicts under his belt already and understands conflict very well…the Emperor’s assassination attempt; however, has left Toshio without a visible enemy to fight and conquer…

Iwasa has spent his life in the roving plains of the Unicorn lands. His travels have taken him far from the designated borders of the Emerald Empire, but he has always known that the land of Rokugan will forever be his home. His free spirit is inherited from his ancestors, but Iwasa has learned to temper it with responsibility making for a kind and gentle samurai. The young man's love for horses is no secret to any man who has seen him ride. Iwasa understands the importantance of duty, but also realizes every man needs to be set free once in a while...

Asako Mitsu male human Phoenix Monk 5/Sam 2: CR7; Medium Humanoid (5'7" tall); HD 5d8 plus 2d10; HP: 45; Init +3; Spd 40'; AC 17 (touch 17, flat footed 14); BAB +5;Atk Katana +7 (1d10+2, 19-20 x2), or Wakazashi +7 (1d6+3, 19-20 x2), or Fist +6 (1d8, x2), or Longbow +8 (1d8, x3); SQ: Unarmed strike, Evasion, Stunning attack, Deflect arrows, Still mind, Slow fall (20 ft.), Purity of body, Ancestral Daisho, Honor 3; AL LG; Sv Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +10; Str 12 Dex 16 Con 10 Int 10 Wis 16 Cha 14;

Possessions: Katana, Wakazashi

Mitsu is a good-natured and outgoing man. His smile is usually enough to lift anyone’s spirits, but behind this seemingly simplistic samurai lies a very wise and reserved individual. At a very young age, Mitsu was trained to be a guardian; his mind, body, and spirit were tempered within the halls of his monastery while other children were allowed to play games. The young samurai has been exposed to much, secrets that few but the Kami have ever laid their eyes upon. Armed with this knowledge, Asako Mitsu has been charged with a very grave mission, one that he has yet to fully comprehend himself. Perhaps he shall reach enlightenment on his travels around the Emerald Empire…

Bayushi Sato male human Scorpion Sam 6: CR6; Medium Humanoid (5'6" tall); HD 6d10; HP:35; Init +5; Spd 30'; AC 18 (touch 13, flat footed 15); BAB +5;Atk Katana +7 (1d10+2, 19-20 x2), or Wakazashi +7 (1d6+1, 19-20 x2); SQ: Ancestral Daisho, Honor 1; AL LE; Sv Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +4; Str 13 Dex 16 Con 10 Int 14 Wis 11 Cha 16;

Skills and Feats: Bluff +14, Diplomacy +9, Sense Motive +11, Iaijutsu Focus +11, Battle +7, Spot +3, Gather Information +6, Hide +6; Subtle Manipulator, Way of the Scorpion, Pincers and Tail, Buyashi Technique, Expertise

Possessions: Katana +1, Wakazashi, Lamellar Armor

Sato does whatever is needed to accomplish the objectives that his clan sets forth for him; however, to simply categorize him as a blind servant would be fatal. Sato has his own ideas on how to protect Rokugan, but his agendas are known to no one…and his twisted sense of honor is understood by few. His ambition has elevated his standing in his own family rather quickly…too quickly for some. Many say Sato will die soon, but others whisper that all who have attempted to put the young samurai into the “eternal sleep” have failed utterly. Rumor also has it that he has contact within the Emerald Court itself, but few can actually prove this. Whatever his influence, one thing is for certain: Sato is dangerous to those blocking his path…
