They'd revoke my D&D gamer license if they knew....

Yeah, well try skipping combat, and see how well that goes.

I mean, as if you didn't look silly enough playing hopscotch...

I dislike the excessively wide range of magic prevalent in D&D.

I like anthropomorphic races, as long as they have a distinct identity rather than just an animal-headed human.

I find races that can pass as human with no difficulty, but they have kewler powers than humans or an odd aura about them, to be unimaginative, to say the least. Yes, there have been exceptions.

I dislike the apparent trend in many D&D settings where race has become secondary to culture, and where something like an elf and dwarf from kingdom A have more in common with each other than members of the same respective races from kingdom B. This would mean that what race you are has little, if anything, to do with your personality. I'm using race in D&D terms (so in D&D race=species).

I don't mind mixing magic and technology.

I think more PCs need to wear costumes, or at least have a distinct look about them. The villains often do it, why not the good guys?

Mind Flayers (and the fact that they are called "Mind Flayers")
Dude! Mind Flayer is a great, great name. They could have gone with something like Mind Ripper or Brain Eater, but instead they worked in the word Flayer, which is, like, totally rad.

I'm not a big fan of alternate planes you can travel to.

I dislike the common tongue, despite its strong utility.

And... I don't like vancian magic. Even the sorcerer just doesn't do it for me. I can have fun playing arcane spellcasters, but they are the element most strongly unlike the settinfgs I wish to emulate.

I despise making characters.

I've never been to a convention. Not even GenCon.
That's me as well. And I'll make an addition: "...and I never want to go to one."

I don't like the standard gold piece.

I don't like the commonality of magic items and the ease of buying and selling them.

Of course I can't really be bothered to do anything about these in my own games, I would rather just complain.

Like dragons, like dungeons, like dwarves, eh on elves, eh on gnomes and halflings, eh on half-orcs ...

Love psionics, eh on magic - although I use it because it is the most common currency in the game.

Love fighter based classes ... but not keen on running combat. Figure that one out!

Love bards and skill jockeys including social rogues.

Hate with a passion theiving rogues. And monks.

:D
