Things that you would like to see change/go away?

They're style of play. If your about scoring kills for the sake of scoring kills, stop by the arcade instead of my game.

So let the psionics stay and just don't play with powergamers ;)

If flavorless powergaming wasn't so rampant amongst the psionics only copmmunities I'd agree with you. Oh well I guess I needed an escuse to switch back to the hero system now I have one.

See ya! ;)

I want to see all the ridiculous I hate 4e WotC is evil threads go away. You don't want to play it, fine don't buy it.

On a serious note, I think pretty much everything I want has been spoken for. There really isn't much I can think of that I haven't seen addressed so far. The couple things I would like are:

• Grapple. I would like some sort of system that lets characters wrestle and fight hand to hand quickly and has such things in there as using another character as a missile and hurling another character off of a cliff.

• Critical Hits. The whole more damage thing is fun and a lot of people like it, I would just like to see something more fluid that makes battles more dynamic and unpredictable. I would rather see a natural 20 be an Opportunity for the Attacker. Maybe they open up the Defender and can do something else or have a list of abilities they can use. You can also have a natural 1 illicit a response from the Defender. This keeps the flow of the battle exciting. I'd also like to see more movement from combatants so when your in combat your not just standing there till the other guy is dead.

• Masterwork Items. Masterwork items should have varying levels and be able to go up to maybe +3.

That's about all I can think of now.

I'll tackle the first one first. The cleric is based on religious faith. A big part of faith is understanding what your god wants. And this means paying attention to him. Thus a cleric needs to be in tune with his deity. A character with high CHA but low WIS probably does a lot more speaking than listening. Does a god want such a character being a representative of him? Probably not. Plus in just about every religion, who are the people who are most revered for their holiness? Those who are wise and listen to the divine.
Quite honestly, a high CHA has nothing to do with talking a lot. And being able to talk a lot has nothing to do with how a god will treat you. In my book Charisma is about personal magnetism and how well the character can manipulate others to their way of thinking. Now that may be done by fast-talking or it could be done by debate or even by intimidating them with their presence. Point is a high CHA does not equate talking a lot.

Another point, a characters faith in ones deity translates mechanically like you said into clerics being able to hear and see very well. In my book that just screams psion and monk, someone who really truly tries to better them selves from within. Wisdom should be tied to all "innate" stuff. Innate stuff would be: senses, will saves, and psion/monk like powers.

Last point on this, the definition sounds pretty divinly inspired... from dictionary.com:
cha·ris·ma /kəˈrɪzmə/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kuh-riz-muh] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -ma·ta /-mətə/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[-muh-tuh] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation.
1. Theology. a divinely conferred gift or power.
2. a spiritual power or personal quality that gives an individual influence or authority over large numbers of people.
3. the special virtue of an office, function, position, etc., that confers or is thought to confer on the person holding it an unusual ability for leadership, worthiness of veneration, or the like.

Ya know... I hate to say this because pretty much all of my characters use them but...

The Chain Shirt needs to go. It popped up out of nowhere in 3.0 and it pretty much negates the entire medium armour category. I can chop my speed by 1/3 inorder to get +1 to AC at best? Woohoo!...

If light armour capped out at +3 with studded leather then perhaps the Medium category would have a purpose beyond allowing Barbarians to run around in mithral fullplate (Because nothing says 'screaming berserker' like shiny gleaming silver Maximillian Gothic Armour.)

I see an awful lot of chain shirts around the table and the rules of thumb is usually "If everyone takes it, It's probably too good."
