Things to do in Long Beach, CA?

I'll be in Long Beach, CA next week and was wondering what's worth a visit.

I was thinking of going to the aquarium but I'm not sure about the Queen Mary. Is the Queen Mary any good?

Are there any local restaurants I shouldn't miss? If so, which ones?

Are there any internet cafes or other places where I can get online (I won't have my own PC)? If so, what and where?

I won't have a car so places that are easy to get to on foot or by public transport from Alamitos Ave & E Ocean Blvd would be ideal.

Thanks in advance.

How much free time will you have, and how far are you willing to range? LA and San Diego are quite driveable, and other cities in Orange County are full of tourist traps (most notably Disneyland).

drothgery,

I have a certain amount of free time but none of it more than half a day at once. Also, I won't have a car and wasn't planning on renting one.

Pretty much everything has to be easy to get to on foot or by public transport from the convention centre on E Ocean Blvd.

I really enjoyed the Queen Mary when I went as a kid. I enjoy things like museums and historic sites most of the time though.
Here is a link about Long Beach nightlife. And you can look here for info on transportation. If you have time to spend a day on Catalina island, do so. It is a lot of fun!

Have fun! I love Long Beach!
