Things to do in NYC when you're a geek?

It depends what a geek like you enjoys. And when you're in town, of course.

Historical spots where writers drank themselves to death!

Probably more when I think of it. This is a lot more alcohol themed than it was intended to be. :)

http://www.eerie.com/ - jekyll and hyde club, the one near central park is cooler (only cash and american express) - it's very very much for tourists. The jekyll and hyde Pub near the village is ok, the Slaughtered Lamb has an ok S&M night, don't know if it's still around ( you ask how is this geeky? think evil priestess inspirations, watch out for the Lady of the House, she is touchy feeling and made me icky.)

I'm just gonna chime in here. I went to the J&H by the park with a group of friends for a friend's birthday, and it was a truly awful experience. I can't in good conscience recommend it.

Sounds like a lot of neat places.

The few times I got to the city I have done the Met and tried to get into DC comics (darn security guard :( )
