Well, a 10th/1st/9th level Fighter/Sorcerer/Arcane Archer has 4 attacks at +19/+14/+9/+4. Add in a +5 bow and +5 arrows that he always gets, you're doing pretty good. Oh, and don't forget the Bracers of Archery

Now add weapon focus and specialization, improved critical, point-blank shot, rapid shot, dodge, mobility, and shot on the run, plus an item that hastens you and another that lts you fly, an Arcane Archer could swoop in, fire 5 times at +30/+30/+25/+20/+15, and swoop away to safety. Each hit deals d8+17 (assuming you've got a strength bow and 18 Str. Plus whatever elemental enchantments you put on your bows.

Don't worry. We aren't teasing you.

If you feel like somebody is teasing you or ganging up on you, don't take it personally. What somebody types may seem one way to them and be taken a completely different way by people reading it. If we hurt your feelings, you have, at least, my apologies.

(When we tease you, you'll know it... :D )

It is, after all, part of the board's purpose to help people who are new to the game to learn the rules. Feel free to ask about any other rules that might not be clear for you.

Another great resource for those who are just learning (and even those of us who have been playing for a while) is the D&D Game Rule Frequently Asked Questions. It can be found at http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/er/er20020215a

Actually, that's at least THREE mistakes I recall - conditions which allow sneak attacking, the proper use of blindsight, Arcane Archer BAB... Man, some people... Can't even count to three :D

Uhm no :). I was refering to the sneakattack rule. I thought the rule was that if you are aware of somebody you will prepared for a sneak attack (Move when you hear the other person move etc. so he'll hit you. Just not where wanted to) "Like fighting someone when you are blind". I wasn't refering to the feat.

Hey just because I don't know the rules don't mean I cant count :P

No. I played in the IR Thread in the In Character section. Lots of posting.

Added: Oh you meant yourself. (Must go to bed now. It's past 6 am here and I haven't slept yet).

But it's GOOD for him! ;)

Heh... I've been around on these boards since before the PHB came out, and isn't my post count high. Of course, I had to re-register every time the boards moved... a pain in the ass that was... <growl>

Tarrasque

I think the easist way is with a 18th level Cleric with the Travel domain. Fly up, staying out of reach, and cast Destruction or Implosion. Bring scrolls, or be willing to wait several days. The Tarrasque is bound to roll a nat 1 on a fort save eventually. The hard part is dealing that last 20 points of damage to get it to -30. Constitution drain seems the most viable approach. For that, I recommend either Bestow Curse or Miracle. Then, follow it up with another Miracle, and you have one permanantly dead Terrasque. (I was limited to one Wish, but no limits on Miracle, remember.) I would proably recommend he bring Boots of Speed, he's going to have to be quick about it. The 10,000 xp cost for this strategy seems high, but remeber, he gains 10,800 xp for the kill.

Or, if want real cheese: Gate + Solar = dead Tarrasque. The Solar, being a 20th level Cleric himself, should be able to do this without help. (Yeah Gate!)
