This web tool must exist but I don't know what to search for

Ry

Explorer
I'm looking for something that can crawl over a website (i.e. my campaign wiki) and make a relationship map based on links in the page. Does anyone know of something like this, or what I should be searching for?

I don't know of a tool that automatically makes the graph... I would probably run a link checker (there are a few written in Perl that I might try) and then post-process the output with GraphViz.

If nothing else, maybe the links from the GraphViz site can help you find what you need?

Don't most Wikis offer site map pages? But I guess even if they do, they only take into account links to pages internal to the site. And your site isn't a Wiki, so never mind. :)

I know some of the Web editors like FrontPage and Dreamweaver offer tools for site maps including external links.

Tools that walk websites are called spiders. You should be able to find something with that as a search term. :)

You might also want to search for a "sitemap creator" or "generator". There are lots out there; one of them will probably work for you.

Microsoft Site Analyst. I use it frequently in my job....but I don't think it's available anymore.....my copy is probably 5 years old.

I did find a link that might help...
