I seem to compare movies to the last movie I went, so here is my ranking of the movies I have seen so far THIS YEAR. This is personal taste and this list will change as movies come out.

1. Mr & Mrs Smith
2. Batman Begins - Wedding Crashers (yes, it is just as good but apples and oranges)
3. Star Wars: RotS
4. Sin City - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide
6. The Pacifier
7. Fantastic Four - Sahara
8. Constantine
9. Kingdom of Heaven

On a side note, was watching Sunday Morning Shootout on AMC and they were doing Conix-Con and had a brief meeting with Brian Singer on Superman, he said the cost is about 250 million! 250, my god, Hollywood is out of control!

March of the Penguins seems to have actually moved up. Good.

I wonder if the Dukes will be able to hold onto their position? From everything I've heard, including protests from the original actors, it sucks. (More proof to me that I disagree with mass media America.)

About the only thing I'd like to see that's semi-new is Duma, another family movie that looks low on the old special effects and has a release limited to Chicago to test market it.

Stealth and the Island both big buget movies tanked, and while I have heard nothing good about Dukes (even JS in tight shorts) at least it looks like it will make its cost back (50 million) but that is about it.

This weekend the new openings are Deuce Bigalow, Four Brothers, The Great Raid, and Skeleton Key, none standout for me but if I was going to see one it would be Deuce as it makes not bones about being dumb.

Ah, I was going to say "Four Brothers" as it looks like a simple shot 'em up type movie in a vein similiar perhaps to Narc.

Although the Great Raid could be good... I'll have to hear some reviews about it.... same for Skeleton Key. I'm a sucker for horror movies and own quite a few bad ones (Scanners, I'm looking straight at you... have you no shame?)

I saw Dukes this weekend. I rather liked it, as a matter of fact... it was stupid and silly, but that is exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted.

It was fun and funny... and made me want to watch Smokey and the Bandit.

Different strokes and all that. As I noted, I've got some stinkers in my own library.
