i do like the ideas about the weapons. having to use the deities prefered weapon, and adding one every five levels, so i will add that in. it gives it that feeling that the weapon really matters, which i think is usually missing from most players. most of the time they are just using the best weapon available. and dont have that conection that reall warriors had with their respective weapons. as for the domains of the shaman i will hopefully be playing i was planing on taking "Metal" and "Time" i cannot remember the name of the deity off the top if my head but those were the domains i was planning on.
thnx again

nix time as one of the domains...why would a shaman care about time? To a shaman IMHO is all about nature, the people, the land, the earth, combat. It's a clerical barbarian bordering on druid, what place does time matter in the scheme of things? Metal I can see, time I cannot...

anyone else agree or disagree?

I agree. Time is just a way to measure the passing of events. I don't see this type of class needing it.

yeah i didnt thinlk time fit in to well either but i like metal especialy since i am planing on using dwaren as my race. i will have to find that god and see what his other domains were, maybee an element like earth or fire would be more appropriate?
thnx for the input keep it coming.....

the point of this character isnt to be more like a cleric. i am trying to accomplish that head tribesman feel, you know the accomplished warrior with mystic powers. oh and thnx for the comments.

I really think you either need to lessen the magical abilities or the BAB. I think having both so good for one class is going to be to much unless you severely limit the spells he has access to.

so what do you think 1 less spell per spell level per day? or make it so he doesnt have access to a certain type of spell?

this is what i sent to him, shoulda posted here instead:

well to get away from those classes you would have to basically start from scratch. Nix the high hitpoints, start lower, skills are too high, divine rage is overpowered, con bonus to AC is double dipping (you get 2 bonus' from one attribute), domains need to be limited to a few.

To combat this I would say do this: make charisma be the bonus to AC as a shaman has to impress the people and the gods to get his way, take the hitpoints and BAB to be the clerical ones, make the spells similar to the bards as he is more than a cleric but less than a wizard, skills drop down to 3+int mod, spontaneous casting like a bard and limited number of known spells like the bards, use the CON for spellcasting in determing spells (just a thought) as a shaman must be tough to imbue the power of their god. Keep the rest for now, but you can pick the rest easily with feats and do the same thing and gain more.

Basically you combined both the cleric and barbarian into one class and took the best from both. I think with some role-playing we can have you take a few feats, pick your bonus' using barbarian and cleric, put levels in each, take a feat, and then be on your way. This way we can overcome any obstacle and it is already done for you.
