D&D 5E (2014) Tiefling Artificer

So I am a late adopter of new classes (usually). I am a huge fan of warlocks in 5e but I digress.

if you were going to make a tiefling with a gun….

how would you build it with artificer? Clearly hellboy made me think of it, but the design need not be a strong man. I could get into a weasldexterous tiefling too.

what subrace ot tiefling would you think fun for this? Which artificer would you pick and why?

backgrounds for flavor too

par usual, I am into interesting and competent and thematic. Wrecking house and optimization not a number one priority…

There's nice mechanical/industrial vibe to Avernus already in 5e. Infusing items with demons/sinners souls and crafting potion with demonic ichor could be awesome.

Background: Shipwright, you are specialized in crafting war vessels.

Class Artificer, Artillerist
- Use guns until level 5, at 5 use your arcane firearms to cast cantrips. Focus on fire spells.

At level 4 or 8, take Flame of Phlegethos, for a small fireshield when using fire spells, +1 Int and reroll 1s on fire spells.

Could take the Eldritch Initiate feat to poach Devil's Sight or another thematic Invocation.
Or even Infernal Constitution with the Resistant Armor Infusion to have resistant to 4 damage types.

I like the racial feats. They’re not super powerful per se but flavorful.

I like that—-go all in a n the devil stuff.

I mo longer like evil characters much high school and college was another matter) but this flavor would be great.

mad to the infusions…I have to read up. I was thinking about armor fused with infernal material souls or ?

Devils sight would be fun however…
