Tilted "dungeon"... side-effects???

anyone else have a "tilted" idea or relay an experience using this???
I ran an adventure in a spinning sky castle. The centrifugal force caused some *really* odd angles (like a space station). I had PC’s trying to climb ‘up’ hallways (while being attacked from above), having to deal with lessening gravity (as they climbed towards the castles center), and changes in gravitational direction. The final battle took place in a large hall in the center of the castle (i.e. near the spin axis), so gravity was really wonky... they could walk on the four "walls" (but ranged weapons were extremely inaccurate)

I was just thinking...have the monsters living in the tower on the 'up' side of things, and on the 'down' side, there is a gaping hole in the wall. The monsters on the upside have barrels of oil or other slippery stuff that they can break and coat the ramp. If the characters slip and fall....they have the potential of slipping right out the gaping hole in the side of the tower and fall, however many stories they are up in the tower.

Could be VERY threatening on the 10th floor of the tower....

As a rough rule of thumb, you could make it something like (assuming an uneven surface):

10 DC 5 Balance if Running or Charging
20 DC 10 Balance if Running or Charging
30 DC 15 Balance if Running or Charging, DC 5 Balance if Moving
40 DC 20 Balance if Running or Charging, DC 10 Balance if Moving
50 DC 0 Climb
60 DC 5 Climb
70 DC 10 Climb
80 DC 15 Climb
90 DC 20 Climb

Remember, when climbing, you need both hands. So if you used something like this, once you get above a 45 degree angle, it becomes difficult to both move and fight.

That chart makes me happy. You could flesh it out a bit, though.

Balance DC if running = 10 + balance DC if moving = 25 + climb DC.

A 40 degree slope requires a DC 10 balance check, a dc 20 balance check if running, or a DC -5 climb check to negotiate. Why would anyone climb it? Maybe they're a tank and have a massive armor check penalty.

A 80 degree slope requires a DC 15 climb check, or a DC 30 balance check (DC 40 if running). If you're an epic swashbuckler, you dance up the slope.

The climb checks would have to be based on the texture of the "floor". If the floor is pretty smooth it wouldn't be very fun to try and climb unless you're a professional.
