Time for Ceramic DM? (judge-free commentary thread NO JUDGES ALLOWED AS OF NOW :) )

Macbeth, reading the judgment, I agree about one thing; I'd like to see the narrator blow the dam above Las Vegas (instead of San Francisco; you could put the "studio" out in the desert) instead of just busting some water mains. Biblical proportions, indeed!
Now why the Heck didn't I think of that? It should have been obvious! Fixes all my plot holes, adds a more "Biblical" feel. Crud. Kiln-Fired, here I come (once I'm out of this competition).

Kiln-Fired, Isn't that the ongoing place for working on this kind of writing? I should have started there. I'll do my best to give a good showing here though.

I did some checking and found the following (except for the info on CDM3, that I could not find , yet)

There are 114+ stories!

Way to much for one pdf I think, esp the LOOOOONG stories sialia created :p

So what about only the winners? that would be 7 or 8 stories!

I am tempted to ask the contestants to see if they want a story in the pdf, and if they could send it to me. Any ideas?

So tell me, I can't be the first person who considered cutting work to work on thier story, hmm?

Not at all! :) Especially since I seemed to be "gifted" with the ability to end up with mid-week draws in the last contest.

As a side question, what is the general consensus on family/friend review? I tend to get typing a story so fast that a decent editing run through it would be a boon. Not that I generally finish a story in time to get a good editing, but if I did, would it be considered poor form to have somebody read/edit it before posting?

I don't think so, BSF. I certainly wouldn't send it out to a literary website for peer analysis, but I don't think that having one person look it over for errors is unethical. If we want, we can always ask for judge clarification.

Good question, I had thought it was part of the 'unwritten' rules since the limited time prevents a team of editors to do a run before posting. It's not like we would ever know though, right? I don't think it should matter that much and go for it if you have the time.

Noskov, I sent Alsih2o your email this morning; he's probably already emailed you. As the next alternate, I think you're in! The only question is probably whether you use the existing photos or whether both you and Rodrigo get a new set. They're probably figuring that out.
