Ah, but there is one thing that can explain every mistake the BBEG made:

He's insane. In the completely wacko "I've flipped a canary and I'm going to dance the sausage into the tree" kind of way.

That is certainly fair - but then again, would he subdue? and how did he get to 20th level????????

Ah, well that is because he got to 20th level before he went insane. And he used subdual because he thought the PCs were his closest friends who were under enchantment spells and he didn't want to hurt them.

Well, it could happen!

It seems that some here get their fun out of gaming the system, and others get their fun out of a good story of a hard challenge met successfully and a narrow escape.

Both are valid sources of fun (and need not be mutually exclusive), but give me the good story first.

Good job, RW and co. That sounded like a fun session.

Either Traps and Treachery or Song and Silence (can't remeber which), has a trap specifically with two teleport gates, one on the ceiling, one on the floor, so that the target continuously falls until he reaches terminal velocity, and the bottom gate shuts off.


Now, whichever book it's in determines if it's official or not.

Cool trap. I just glanced thru song&silence's trap section but didn't see it. Doesn't mean it's not there, though.
