Have a sense of humor, guys.
Say something funny.
Edena had a BAB of + 20. Real good in 2nd Edition, nothing to write home about in 3rd Edition.
Wait... BAB +20. Which is what a 20th-level fighter has... and this is "nothing to write home about?"
Edena had the equivalent of a Fortitude save of + 14, a Will save of + 16, and a Reflex save of about + 13. Nice in 2nd Edition, not so effective in 3rd Edition. (He would never have made his save against a dragon's breath weapon in 3rd Edition!)
+14, +16, +13 and you think those suck? There average monk would have a +15 or so for each at 20th...
Edena had 250 hit points. Very nice, but in 3rd Edition many monsters can easily beat that. Epic Monsters, especially.
I have rarely met characters with 250 hit points. A 20th-level fighter with a 20 Con would have to get good hp rolls to have 250 hp.
Vile Magic is Magic, no?
And Magic, is sentient in FR, no?
And that sentience, is Mystra, no?
The fabric if magic is a part of Mystra's being, but it is not sentient. If it was, then Mystra would be an unstoppable deity, able to determine an enemy's plan whenever they cast a spell.
And by your reasoning.. Animate Dead, Protection From Good and all those [Evil] spells would not work in Forgotten Realms, because Mystra's neutral good alignment would stop it.
So, a part of Mystra's sentience is based on something so foul and awful that to even attempt the least comprehension of it is damning for mortals!
Vile magic is not a part of Mystra's sentience. What makes her sentient is the fact that she is a living, thinking being.
Please try to state things properly in an argument, else your weak point will be buried in all the nonsense you spout.
If being Mystra being good limited magic, then every evil spell on Toril would cease to function.
Also... as someone else already stated... there is NO Vile magic in any official Forgotten Realms products, so it has no direct impact on the setting.
