TNT Cancels WITCHBLADE

Well, this sucks! Although I must confessed, I don't have cable but I have seen the two Witchblade movies shown on the WB.

I hope another network (cable or broadcast affiliate) will pick up the series which have so far aired only two seasons. Even better, put the series up for syndication and let the local TV stations buy airtime.

My main problem is why they canceled it. Not due to it having bad ratings this year, but because they are worried it would not be able to keep up those ratings for a third summer. *sigh* Stupid executives.

It's also they're being polite... They may not trust Yancy Butler to stay on the wagon. The delay her problem caused probably cost the netrowk a pretty penny in production schedule delays.

The best thing that could happen to Crusade was to be cancelled. The show was horrible most of the time and was ruining the good name of Bab 5.

First, FOX trashes Dark Angel & now TNT dumps Witchblade. Why am I not surprised...

Finally. Now they can put something in it's place worth watching. It was a complete disgrace next to the comic. Well, the first 50 issues of the comic, anyway.

Sorry, haven't read the comic version. Still, the show has a respectable rating. That means people are watching them. Common sense tells me that if people are watching them, they're watching the commercials and that brings big bucks.

After all, you don't see Coca-Cola ads in a roleplaying magazine.

And if for some reason that Yancy Butler cannot fulfill her obligation, the production would be willing to find another actress. After all, the artifact seems to find its way to a new owner.

I doubt the network execs think the show will pull in viewers if Butler leaves. Most shows lose when they have major cast changes.
