To Catch a Crimelord, or Down the Rabbit Hole (garyh judging)

Georg looks around the throneroom, seeming impressed by the trophies and plethora of bones. "The beasts which you have felled Chief Kniva seem mighty and the many bones of are testament to your strength. What problem threaten you, perhaps we share a common enemy?"

Lily's eyes positively gleamed with excitement and awe as they stood before the primitive splendor of the chief on his bone throne.

Oh, can you really help us? Can you tell us about the sacred stones? Has anyone else gone through them?

Her face fell a little as the last question escaped her lips, recalling how the portal had vanished after they had come through. Maybe it had just been a trap.

Heh, wonder if we should be wary of the chief, Kniva = Conniver? :P

Kruk looks at Lily and shakes his head with a smile on his face. I'll learn more from her questions than opening my big mouth. Stay silent Kruk and listen!

ooc: nature check: 7

Kruk's mind wanders from Lily to the bones. What the heck are those?

While not impressed by the decor, Raiyek is impressed by the deeds which must have made the decor possible. "An honor to meet you, Chief Kniva. I do hope we can help each other. No doubt you are very familiar with the area and its inhabitants, while we are not."

Well, at least Raiyek stays consistent in failing to have any knowledge of Valley of Bones religion, haha.

Also, where's Seven Rabbit when you need him?! ;)[/sblock]

"Hmmm I hope so. You may know or not, but there are tribes of dwarves who live in the mountains close to here. Not long ago they come down from the mountain. They says we gotta give them the tributes for living near their tribe, but not golds or jewels. They wants people, they says the gods demand it. I try to talk to them, but they no listen to us humans. Maybe you have more luck for us? I will pay you the gems for you to do this. I gives you this if you make them listen, yes?" Chief Kniva says, reaching to a wooden box and opening it up. Inside are a few handfuls of sparkling gems.

You would know the street value of these to be at least 1,000 gp back in Daunton

"Ah the sacred stones. Our god Quetzalcoatl has demanded of us that we watch over this place and so we are to allow none to enter them. I know not why. You are the first we've seen come through.

Georg pulls a face and tries to hide it before responding, "I know not these dwarfs in the nearby mountains nor their gods or reasons. But if my allies are for such, I will do my best as an interpreter."

[sblock=OOC]Oh, why not 7 Rabbit! Well, I guess a non-charismatic non-diplomatic dwarf can TRY to reason with my distant cousins. Though I am much better with flaming death.

"Odd that dwarves would turn down riches, no? But I agree with Georg, we can speak to these dwarves on your behalf, Chief Kniva."

In the privacy of his mind, Raiyek wonders about the dwarves. I have not known dwarves to use slaves ... certainly they wouldn't want these people to use as sacrifices? Their recent run-in with the Oan mage and the echoes arising from his rituals reminds him of some people's depravity, sending a shiver down his spine. If that is what they intend, I must know.
[sblock=OOC]Woot! Over 2000 posts! :)[/sblock]
