Lily looked down at the dagger that landed at her feet with wide eyes, momentarily forgetting the battle she shot Carolina an annoyed look.

EEE...Hey! Watch where your throwing that thing. What are you trying to do, kill me?!

Only the shuffling counter attack of the undead brought her back to her senses.

Oh...whoops.

Lord Sessadore, I don't know if it'll put you over the top, but don't forget the +1 to hit from being adjacent to Lily's spirit companion this turn.

Lily will Delay until after baddies act, it's a lot easier for me to plan my moves from the top of the initiative order.

Kruk, feeling the cold touch of the wight, screams in frustration as he now realizes he can't move his legs. He takes his frustration out on the dog with a high arc swipe of his axe. "Get away from me you mutt!" The axe splits the undead beast's head open like a watermelon, there's no way this creature will be returning.

After watching the dog die at least its third death, Carolina steps from the corner and launches her newly acquired magical dagger at the apparent leader of the undead hoard.

Luck isn't with the halfling this time, however, and she trips as she spins around the corner. Her blade goes wide--too wide, and she winces as it lands across the road at Lily's feet.

She is quite impressed, however, when the magical blade returns to her empty hand.

Raiyek shakes his head, trying to clear the noxious smell of the walking corpse from his nose. "Carolina, Lily, Geog, I think these two are up to you three. I can't concentrate when I'm that close to them."

Turning away from the hurling zombies, the paladin sets his eyes on the emaciated wight. "I'll taste delicious, will I? I hope you like the taste of steel, because that's all you'll get from me this day!" He charges into the undead with another vicious stab, but it seems the scent of the other zombies is still interfering with his aim.

Georg shuffles weakly along the side of the building, trying to stay out of sight but knocking everything around him with his staff. With cover from the stairs he launches a flaming strike at a corrupted corpse. The blast causes some minor damage, but nothing that affects it too much.

Grim says "I'll stay with the girl, make them pay Lily" as he stands protectively over her.

The wight attempts to send Raiyek away with a terrible image on its face, but the elf easily overcomes the attempt.

The corpses continue hucking their globs of darkness at Raiyek, one hitting the paladin, the now-familiar life-draining energy soaking him and sapping his strength.

*Grim will total defense this combat. He won't be receiving xp for it either so it won't dilute your reward.

Georg takes the paladin's advice and throws a weak burst of fire at one of the corpses. It's minor flames lick the creature. The dwarf then drops to ground behind his cover whimpering for a second before recovering from the necrotic chill.

Lily willed the shadow to move and it glided toward the now every so slightly charred corpse, falling on it with a multitude of snapping jaws.

[sblock=Lily's Spirit Primer (Please Read!)]
Spirit companions are complex critters, so this is to remind everyone, myself included, of the important points. The first three items are probably the most relevant to the other players.
  • Any of Lily's allies who start their turn adjacent to her spirit companion can shift 1 square as a free action, as the first action during their turn.
  • Any of Lily's allies adjacent to her spirit companion gain a +3 bonus to their damage rolls against bloodied enemies.
  • Lily's spirit companion occupies 1 square, Lily's allies may move through its space, but her enemies may not.
  • Lily's spirit companion may be targeted by melee and ranged attacks. If a single attack deals 10 or more damage to Lily's spirit companion it disappears and Lily takes 5 damage. Otherwise her spirit companion is unaffected by the attack.
  • Lily's spirit companion uses Lily's defenses.
  • Any enemy that leaves a square adjacent to Lily's spirit companion without shifting is subject its Spirit Fang attack. (This is an opportunity action and so may used once per turn, rather than once per round. Since there is no reason not to take this attack DM please feel free to roll them as necessary.)
  • Lily's spirit companion is unaffected by terrain and environmental phenomena.

Kruk moves to a strategic location and the charges the wight. Unfortunately for Kruk, he trips as he begins his swing, nearly striking his brand new boots!

Carolina tightens her grip on the dagger and nimbly scurries along the building faces to flank the wretched wight. With her eyes full of ill intentions, she brings her dagger up and back down again, hoping to catch the thing off guard.

[sblock=Actions]Move to AB16*
Standard: Deft Strike vs. Wight; 1d20+13 hits AC 19 for 14 damage, including sneak attack (Roll Lookup)**
Minor: None

* Deft Strike allows Carolina to move two squares before her attack, thus giving her up to 8 squares of movement this round.
** IC roll does not include +2 flanking bonus[/sblock]
