Today I learned, that the Ambassador Bridge, the bridge that connects Detroit, Michigan to Windsor, Ontario, is privately owned.. and has been since it's construction.

I guess it was really just some naivety on my behalf, as I just assumed a piece of infrastructure that large had to have been publicly owned..

There are a lot of PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships) that aren't common knowledge. For example in Canada we think that all hospitals are public but there are many that are actually private, but still provide care under our universal health system.
