Tokiwong's 3.5 Game: Chapter 1 (The Swarm)

Dipping his bread into the morning stew, Jason takes a look around at the others who have possibly sacrificed their lives for a cut of 170 gold. Once again reaching down to his money pouch and feeling how light it is Aww what the hell....some extra cash won't hurt...and women are usually impressed with heroics...Mayor....I would also like to lend my skills to this request that you have made. We can all hope that the possiblity of a large gathering of these creatures is very minimal, but if not, then hopefully my compainions and I will be able to put a stop to it. He notes the others looking at him and realizes that some of his breakfast had stuck to his beard and quickly wipes it off Damn thing....really should shave this thing....

The Mayor sighs in relief, “Thank ye all kindly, and we appreciate the help, the village is in ye debt. I would recommend that you not lose your lives, if we can find proof then we can contact the Magistrate of Raven’s Nest and let them handle it.”

“Aye let these brave heroes handle this mess, Raven’s Nest may not get a chance to reply in time, and chances are there is nothing to be worried about, just a bunch of goblins causing trouble that need a serious lesson in manners,” Sheriff Stone replies with a hearty laugh.

Mayor Thorns nods, “Regardless, once you return the gold is yours, and I hope to see you all well, and I pray that the news is not dire. Please set out promptly on the morrow, gather what supplies you can from any local merchants, and be on your way.”

Sheriff Stone nods, “Aye, there is a road leading south out of the village heading south towards Mount Arthrof, three days at worst, and you should approach its craggy peaks, if there is nothing else then I shall be on my way. Gentleman have a good day, and good luck, may the luck of the gods be on your side,” he adds and exits.

The Mayor remains, “Are there any lingering questions?”

OOC: You can purchase items needed at the normal prices in the PHB if you plan to, and then we can move to the next morning, and the journey begins for our fearless… uhh heroes. Hammerhead, need stats for your familiar as well.

Once all the talking is done Bjorn will go back to the temple and pray for Corellon's graces for the group and them sleep. he will meet with the rest in the morning.

Drakor looks to the newly formed group of adventurers. “I’m glad to see that honorable men such as yourselves have chosen to join meself in this task. I’m sure proper introductions can wait till we set off. I’ve had a long journey here and we’ve another in front of us. Meself I’m off to organize the last of me things and get some rest in a warm bed, I’ll be seeing you first thing in the morn.” With that said he trudges off up the steps to his room.

I wonder what the half-breed's problem is. Everyone else seems to like me. Oh well, his loss...never mind. He's a cleric, so I have to get on his good side.

"Well, see you guys in the morning. Hopefully not first thing though. You were kidding, right," he desperately calls to the retreating figure of the dwarf. Figures.

Kerrik looks towards the rest of his companions. "Well, it's my pleasure working with you guys. I'm an arcanist, but I'm not too bad with a crossbow either."

Looking at his fellow compainions getting their things together...Jason stops the Mayor and the Sheriff at the door.Actually good Sires, I do have a small question for you...Master Constable..Exactly how many of these goblins were there in these raiding parties? Just out of curiosity y'know.

OOC: All I need to get is extra food and such...will add it to sheet...

The Sheriff pauses for a moment and then replies to Jason, "There were four such wretched creatures that were seen in the first raid, and five the next, they were trying to steal our sheep for food I suppose, wretched creatures are too lazy to breed their own."

Are you sure it's laziness? I mean, how hard can it be to raise sheep? Just watch over them, make sure they're safe, right? They can handle the eating and breeding on their own, Kerrik asks Sheriff Stone, posing his own ignorant views on shepherding.

Why do I have to way in our things I know nothing about? Who cares about sheep? It's not like stealing them is a huge crime anyway. Kerrik keeps these thoughts to himself, of course.

Sorry, I'm not exactly a farmer or shepherd. Is there a place I could find a nice, reliable pack mule to bring along with us? I mean, is that a good idea anyway? It's just that my pack is kind of heavy, and if we find treasure, it's going to be even more heavy.

The Sheriff listens to Kerrik, and nods, "If the sheep ain't yours, then don't take it simple sense to me," he replies before nodding to his next question, "Go see Old Yurt, he does good by the people, and breeds some stout pack beasts. Don't be put off by the smell, Old Yurt ain't had a bath in a few months, but he cuts a fair deal."

OOC: Kerrik can purchase a pack animal from Old Yurt at PHB prices.
