Too many books!

Oh well, this is certainly a good problem to have, as far as problems go, but there's too much stuff out there I want right now! Heck, this d20 thing just keeps getting more and more momentum, as near as I can tell. The suppliers of d20 material have become, generally, as good as WotC in most respects, and they've got some kick-@$$ products out there.

Just today, I popped into Borders for about half an hour, and flipped through Arcana Unearthed and the Warcraft book -- both of which I now have to own. Unfortunately, I've still got half a dozen books I've bought that I haven't even had time to read! :( Because of that, I've decided it's time I started putting some limits on what I allow myself to buy, so at least until I get caught up, I'm down to one book a month. I've already got more than that in July, and I've got FFG's Sorcery & Steam slated for August.

Problem is, by the time I get caught up, there's more stuff out there I'll want. It's a vicious cycle, I tell ya, and I don't ever see myself getting caught up!

Sword and Sorcery seem to be the major perpetrators in this area right now. They've launched two major lines (AU and Warcraft) and released like 3 Scarred Lands books, all in the same week. Plus, it all looks like good stuff. And that's just one company.

I really think that the last year or so has seen a marked increase in the quality of d20 stuff that's come out, especially from the top-flight 3rd party publishers. The .pdf market seems to be hitting its stride as well. I looked at the list of ENnies nominees this year and just said "Wow!"

Decisions on which books to buy are getting harder for me to make, too. I find myself passing up on books that I probably would have bought a year ago, simply because there are so many other good books that I want to buy, too.
