This might be painfully obvious to you native English speakers
but I just learned the other day (from reading a Dilbert strip) that a 'topper' is a person who habitually tops everyone and everything.
I thought of Charlie Sheen's character Topper Harley in Hotshots! and how he tops people. I mentioned this to my wife and she recalled Topper's girlfriend giving him a hero's welcome by waving a couple of bacon slices - and Topper immediately producing two t-bone steaks from out of nowhere-
Is this intentional in the same way Wash Out gets thrown out of flight school and Dead Beat getting killed?
Any other examples?
