The Moonshaes and Icewind Dale were the locations of the two first novel serieses, though.

Doesn't mean Ed originally but them there. I know the first Moonshae book was originally written and turned into TSR with out it having anything to do with the Realms, but TSR wanted a book to launch witht the new setting and bam! And RAS originally proposed a sequel to the Moonshae book and TSR said no we want you to do something origianl so he picked Icewind Dale.
