Touch attacks with Sneak damage?

I don't consider it unbalanced, just silly. Here we have a big badass rogue, wielding a peashooter of a spell that barely does any damage on its own, yet he manages to consistenly shoot his enemies in the crotch. ;)

Yeah, but replace that peashooter of a spell with a thrown dart. Same difference really.

Yes, same difference. I call it silly not because it's unbelievable, but because it makes me laugh.

Are we actually having an argument about this?

Well, a dart isn't touch attack.

Instead replace the spell with alchemist fire to make serious damage, and it is still touch attack.

Yes, yes, I know about the touch attack part. All I meant was *IF* your main problem was with a spell normally doing only 1-3 points of damage suddenly doing tons of damage, it's really no different than a dart doing the same thing. That's all I meant. Sure, the touch attack is easier, but a suspect a good rogue would likely hit with the dart for the same amount of damage.

Rays of Frost are not problems at high levels, once spell resistance comes into play. I simple Endure Elements also renders the spell worthless.

5 off of d3+10d6 isn't going to help much.

Sneak Attack bonus damage is applied for each attack that qualifies just like a Flaming weapon does d6 of fire damage even if the physical blow doesn't deal damage.
