"Touch of idiocy" twice?

The WOTC website has a new NPC, a mage-killer. It says: "One of his favorite tactics is to use touch of idiocy twice on a wizard opponent, which pretty much leaves the opponent unable to cast spells." Check me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it works how the author expects.

Touch of idiocy doesn't do ability damage, it applies an Intelligence penalty. So if you get hit with it twice, the castings overlap. Right?

Your right. The guy who made the NPC doesn't really understand the spell stacking rules.

Right. It's not necessarily a useless tactic, since you increase the chance of knocking off 5 or 6 points from their primary casting stat, but if you want to do more than 6 points, you need to Empower it.

Or Feeblemind them.

Or more likely hit them with the first to make sure that the second sticks.

The spell doesn't allow a save, so unless the enemy uses a mental stat for AC (wis for monks, int for duelists and bladesingers), you not going to have a better chance to hit with the second any more than you did with the first.

I think he meant "hit them with Touch of Idiocy to make sure that Feeblemind affects them".

Yeah. It makes more sense than using Mind Fog, to me.

"It's a spell that reduces their Will Save... Will Negates."
