Agreed. Animals certainly have the ability to attack unnatural creatures (as shown in the handle animal skill), they are just generally averse to doing so. However, summoned animals do not require the Handle animal skill.shilsen said:Personally, I think Caliban is wrong here.
Obviously one wouldn't be expected to push an animal to perform a regular attack (even though it's not stated that they know the regular attack trick), so I'm unsure why a different assumption might seem justified for the 'attack unnatural creature' trick. I believe the whole point of summoning things is that no animal handling is required to direct them.
Now: a bag of tricks might be different. One might well require animal handling to control the animal from there, but even then it would know the 'attack unnatural creature' trick since the bag's description says "It can follow any of the commands described in the Handle Animal skill".
That's because the school of conjuration also includes things like calling spells that do not require the creature to follow your commands. This general school description would not superceed "It attacks your opponents to the best of its ability" in a specific spell description.just to play devil's advocate, the PHB does say "Creatures you conjure usually, but not always, obey your commands" (pg. 172).
