Trailblazer now available!

So I did pick up Trailblazer and like a lot of the interesting design mechanics backed up by statistical analysis. You guys ever think of getting into futures trading?

Anyways, I looked through it and I liked the action point mechanics and the bonus hp. overall, it's an interesting book that I definitely plan on gleaming some stuff from.

Gratz on the release Wulf! I've been following ever since you started and I've enjoyed the previews. I picked up my pdf and now I'm off to Kinkos to print me off a nice big copy to sit down with some coffee and peruse. Thanks!

Geez, man, don't do that. We'll have a print version out soon!

Should questions about the PDF be posted here, or in the General Rules forum? I have a question about the Monk's flurry of blows. Or maybe it's about the rules for iterative attacks. Or maybe it's about the centered bonus. But somebody needs to walk me through how (say) the monk gets +9/+9/+9/+9 at 11th level.

I thought I had a question about saving throws, but I see where that is handled now. (p. 15) Very nifty, tying it to character level, not class level.

Questions go here.

I'll go ahead and post this one over there for you.

This is extremely difficult to explain in short form, which is why I did not really get into it, but a Solo creature runs smack up against Lanchester's Square Law, and therefore it is not as powerful as its CR indicates when it is alone.

You have probably experienced this already in 3e. BBEGs tend to die a horrible death as they are overwhelmed by a party of PCs taking 4 actions to its 1 action.
Multiplying the hit points takes care of hp damage, but won't the solo monster will still go down just as fast to effects that circumvent hp? Or are action points enough to take care of that?

Yes and yes.

The DM can also use his action points to take interrupt actions, and act outside the normal initiative order. You don't necessarily have to beat the wizard on initiative.

Remember, as always, that the game is contract between all the players, and the DM should use (or not use) action points to challenge the PCs, not screw them.
